Newsletter #1

Hi Warpath,

With the recent additions to the Battlefield experience, we at Bonus.com thought you might like a bi-weekly Battlefield only newsletter. I'll be covering tournament results, upcoming events, and honoring medal recipients. I'll also include the best of the tips and tricks from the comments board.

If you do not want to receive a bi-weekly newsletter (twice a month) regarding Battlefield, just reply to this email with 'unsubscribe battlefield' in the subject line.

And now to the news!

*******************************************************

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the tournament on Sunday, it was a big success! We had over 100 players in the second battle. There are a couple of bugs to iron out, such as the ally award, but overall everyone seems to have enjoyed the competition. The next tournaments will be this Sunday, August 22nd from 9:00AM to 11:00AM (2 hours) - 12:00AM to 1:00PM (1 hour) - 2:00PM to 4:00PM (2 hours). Don't forget, the times are Pacific Time, so adjust accordingly. (See the very bottom of this email for all time zones). Watch for an all-day tournament coming Labor Day weekend...

I'd like to congratulate our first tournament winners.

Tip #1 (For new players, written by mannycanny)

Hello all you new recruits! If you want a quick way to get to corporal and on to higher positions I have some suggestions. When you start as recruit the first thing you should do is find armor shield. Don't waste time once that's done, attack a computer (or human) controlled corporal. Attack him, computer controlled until he runs get some fuel and mine them all around. You should be at or near private by now. Once he teleports follow and destroy. Once that's done go after another computer controlled corporal and once he runs go after another, don't bother once he runs, after shooting at corporals you should become one. At this point you should go get equipment at least 20-25 armor 20-25 dual shots and have at least 7 homers. If a sergeant is in the game attack and once he has a color change turn on the duals and homers. When he teleports (which he probably will) see if his color has changed back to full, if not go after and finish him as fast as possible. If he has changed to full color once he teleports get some fuel and try again. This trick doesn't work well on Captains and up.

And the question for the week is:
What do you think about the way there can be 30 tanks of one color and only 12 of the other's? Does this make the game less fun? Should something be done?
Sincerely,
Manny customer.service@bonus.com
