Taking off at sunrise... going to some new far-away place...
Is there anything like it?
And it is even more exciting when you have a camera in your bag. So
here I present my best photos from several trips. My purpose while photographing
is not to try to compete with professional photographers who live and work
in that place (after all, they know it better, and they have the time -
something that traveler doesn't have), but to show my own impressions
of that place, how I feel about it, how I see
it. There are very many limitations, of course - you don't control the
weather, you don't know the best vantage points, many places are off-limits
to you, but still it is possible to capture the spirit of the place taking
advantage of what you do have and what is there in front of you. I tried
to do it the best I could. You, the viewer, are the judge.
One technical note: when working on this site I used Netscape,
and since Netscape and Microsoft Explorer show pictures slightly differently
(Netscape adds more contrast and color saturation than Explorer), you may
want to adjust your monitor's brightness and/or contrast settings if
you are using Explorer and photos look too "flat" to you.
