Ralph Hill clinic
The Ralph Hill clinic was a great success. All participants had a wonderful time, even in the chilly weather. Saturday's lesson was a series of gymnastics, giving the horses confidence and fine-tuning their jumping style. Sunday was configured of a little course work, incorporating a simple gymnastic, several related distances, and some tricky turns. Everyone, from beginner novice to prelim, enjoyed Ralph's sense of humor and down-to-earth approach. We are looking forward to having him again!
Jim Graham Clinic
The clinic with Jim Graham was a fun and educational experience for all. Once again, we suffered through Chicago's bitter weather, though the riders sure managed to stay warm! Jim focused on "odd" distances, teaching the riders and horses to add the extra stride instead of leaving long. Jim strove for quality in each jump, starting with the approach. His method of "forward/balanced/rhythm/supple/straight" was well-applied in every exercise. Come back soon, Jim!
