Dear Jason,

 

            We are glad that Allison liked her cards and stickers. We hope that she has a great birthday. The only reason you hear from us is because we love the kids. Although we won’t be seeing them anymore, we would like to stay in touch with them by mail. If that is objectionable to you and Catherine let us know and all contact will regretfully end.

            We won’t be sending boxes, but we will send gift cards for them. It’s a shame it all had to come to this, but you both know why it did. Best of luck with your new job and house, if they pan out. Hopefully, they will.

This is ridiculous! You send Allison a card for her birthday, and we nicely call you up to thank you for it, and you send us this letter! And what did we do this time? I suppose your grandchildren will be thrilled to have 'grandparent penpals'. Maybe by the time they are 18 they will want to meet you. What a shame! Bathe in your ignorance ....
