Week 3 Highlights
Returning after 4th of July weekend, the 3rd Week of the Summer Bridge began on a hot and stormy Monday morning.
The students huddled under the lecture center roofs, avoiding the rain.

The antennas of the Sears Tower scrape the storm clouds as they rush past.

Vanessa, Anabel and Anne B. walk toward the lecture center door, keeping out of the rain under the lecture center roof overhang.

Students seek out Anne B. to turn in assignments done over the weekend.

Vannessa calls the session to order and the students take their seats. On the schedule for the day are the theme skits which were assigned to the student groups last week.

The skits covered a wide range of topics -- peer pressure, student/student relationships, prejudices, academic pressures, and more.

A short break was announced after group 10 had presented their skit. This gave the remaining groups an opportunity to go over their presentations one last time.

The break was over and the presentations began.

All the groups did a wonderful job presenting the skits! Anabel and Vanessa answered some questions, presented some new materials for next week, and then dismissed the students.
The events of Monday were finished. Tuesday would see more classroom instruction for the students.
