For the most part, the storyline is whack. It deals with something called NAVI; A computer-type system that is interactive and which can be logged onto the WIRED, which is like an interactive virtual reality web-internet-type-thingie.
Note that, as I've said before on my whole page, this is just my opinion.
Lain has very delicate, beautiful and horrific animation. If you aren't in the mood for deep thinking, this not the anime to whip out during a kegger. It's more of an X-Files meets computer geek meets poltergeist... series.
It's crazy, it's beautiful, but it isn't Crazy Beautiful. It's Serial Experiments Lain, and the soundtrack is quite smashing as well!! Try it out. If from this horrid little review you think that you'd like it, chances are you WILL and you'll get totally hooked. The sad thing is, Lain is fairly short. It's under 30 episodes long (sigh). Oh yeah... and before the summer, I promise I'll get some Lain piccys up. Later.
