Throughout the year in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, the hills and valleys of Bessemer provide you with beautiful vistas, cascading rivers, and endless recreational opportunities. In the Winter, you can go skiing at one of the nearby Ski Hills like Big Powderhorn Mnt., Indian Head Mnt. and Blackjack, or try snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice-fishing too. When the snow is gone, try mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing, or just go exploring, because the U.P. has some of the best National Forests in North America. If festivals are what you seek: Pumpkinfest, Snowmobile Olympus, and the best Fourth of July around awaits you in Bessemer.
Fall brings the annual Pumpkinfest to town, it's a great time to take in the crisp, clean air of a fall day as Main street in Bessemer is filled with vendor booths, you can even enter the best carved pumpkin or seed spitting contests.
When the snow starts to fall in early December, Bessemer's Snowmobile Olympus is a fast track oval snowmobile race that will surely entertain you, it was called the "Race of the Year" in 1996. No matter which season is your favorite, Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, Alpine Campground is open all year long to meet and exceed all of your camping needs. We want to help make your visit to The U.P. an experience that you'll remember for a lifetime! The owners ~ Mr & Mrs. Niles Sanders |
