ixon and Sons, the leading shipbuilders of the region, should rightly bear the name Dixon, Sons, and Daughter, but Payton Dixon knew that was too much to hope for. Raised on-board ship, she speaks her mind, knows what she needs, and can not imagine why her demands go unsupported by her father and three brothers. All she wants is to captain her own ship, and oh, if possible, she’d like the love of Sir Connor Drake. Now is that too much to ask?

When did Payton transform from hoyden to desirable young lady? Certainly sometime when Connor had his back turned. Caught between the rock and the hard place, he finds himself engaged to one woman while desiring another, and to complicate matters, the return of his arch enemy threatens not only his, but the life of the woman he suddenly finds more dear then his own.

If your tastes run to strong-willed heroines, alpha male heroes, lots of action, pirates, treasure maps, and sensuous romance, look no further: An Improper Proposal fits the bill. Written with dash and verve, Patricia Cabot’s latest novel offers enough humor, adventure, and love to satisfy connoisseurs of the genre.
