January 22nd, 2000, at the Metropolis Community Center by the Superman Statue. Our 4th show. The bands played in the following order: Krakt, Typical Reject, Grind, and Victory Gin. First I want to start off with a general overall conclusion of this show, BULLSHIT. Not because the bands were bad, in fact, I think they all played well, but because of the people. It seems the last couple shows I've been to, there has been an overwhelming amount of stupidity running around, mainly due to alcohol. I mean seriously, if you want to come to the show, please do, but drink afterwards or something, not before and during. Because of people's irresponsibility, all shows may be banned from the Happy Heart's Building. People managed to break the walls and knock out the ceiling.
Another issue, I'm sure people heard there was a "fight". Well if you call a 22 year old punching a 17 year old once in the back of the head when he isn't even looking a fight, you are mistaken. There is more to this story, but it's not worth fighting over. What it amounts to is a difference in opinions and people stereotyping and laying blame on others.
Now to the show....Krakt was first, and I am serious when I say they are the best local band. They are without a doubt the best band I've heard in a long time overall. They were badass, and that was minus a bass player. Next was Typical Reject who sounded great with the 2nd guitarist. Great set, ended with Kyle smashing his guitar. ROCK!!! Next was Grind (us) and I think we played well despite the situation, which was us getting snowballs thrown at us for half the set. Still we played our new stuff that I enjoy a lot. During "Surfacing" , we asked Krakt's drummer to assist us, after a few snowballs were thrown, he punched through the drum and stabbed the hell out of it, awesome. After our set was over, I (Stephen) decided to throw my guitar and the keg off the stage because I was pretty pissed off at the snowball kids (previously the waterballoon gang of TwF fame). Afterward, Jarrett confronted one of the snowball punkers and for his troubles got punched in the back of the head. Now where all of our friends who said "I got your back" where at this precise moment are unknown, they apparently looked the other way when he hit him. Anyway, that calmed down, and Victory Gin played, but I didn't watch them, cause I was talking to the other bands about the bullshit going on.
Sometime in the middle of this, the cops come and start arresting drunk retards, haha. Then they decided to survey the building, which had been damaged. They didn't file a report to my knowledge, but I do know that there is a chance there will be no more shows there, but who knows. That is all for now.
