Sermon Notes: Students who are members of Good Shepherd will receive a notebook to be kept in the rack in the connecting hallway. Students (members of Good Shepherd) are expected to take notes each Sunday. Occasional services (midweek) may not be used for missed Sundays. Students may also listen to television or radio services when ill or traveling. Radio station KFUO AM 850 carries services at the following times: 8:00AM, 10:30 AM, 12:30PM, 5:00PM, & 6:00 PM. Students may also listen to previously taped services provided by the pastors.
Nonmembers are not required to take sermon notes. They may do so if they want. Turn in notes to Pastor on Tuesday along with worksheet.
Grades: Grades are based on tests, worksheets/quizzes, sermon notes and class participation.
Memorywork: It is very important to study memorywork a little each day. Morning and evenings are good times to practice. The teachers may also assign special oral assignments during the week.
A Word to Students From Other Churches: We very much appreciate your presence, and we respect the different confessions of faith represented by our students. (Approximately 55% of our students are Lutheran; the remaining 45% come from other denominations.) By "respect" we mean that we will not misrepresent, satirize or ridicule any belief. We will present the Lutheran understanding of the Bible. Students may disagree with some of our teaching. But we do ask that they learn what we believe whether they agree with it or not. If you have questions or concerns, please speak to Pastor Hoft (Seventh Grade) or Pastor Walther (Eighth Grade). The Church phone number is 344-3151. Parents may wish to attend the Adult Inquiry Classes offered three times during the year (Beginning September 6, January 18, and April 24). These classes cover all the basic teachings of our church for adults.
