Welcome students, faculty, administrators, and peers to my website! I am the Head of Youth Services at the Villa Park Public Library. I have been a school librarian in Humboldt Park. I have worked for Chicago Public Library in the Pilsen and Lakeview neighborhoods. My main experience has been working with diverse communities in establishing a literature culture. That means I have dedicated funding to creating collections that contain materials that my patrons can use, doing book talks and storytimes for underserved populations, and helping develop materials and resources that emphasize the importance of reading. While in my current position I primarily service patrons under the age of 14, by no means do my services end there.

My goal is to create a user friendly, state of the art, well developed library. I believe that my ability to select materials that are meaningful and interesting is not only part of my professional duty, but integral to any modern library setting.

Working in libraries is more than a job for me. I love what I do and I plan to share ideas through this website. Please feel free to use any information you find here as long as you observe any copyright laws included in links I provide. I am here to promote the access to information and hope that all visitors find it meaningful and useful.
