Item Duplicate 1. Go to Viridian City and talk to the man who shows you how to catch a Weedle. 2. Reply "No" to his question and watch him catch the Weedle. 3. When done, put the item you want duplicated in 6th place in your item list. To switch items, press Select while pointing to an item, then move the arrow where you want the item to go and push Select again. 4. FLY to Cinnabar Island and start SURFING along the east coast of Cinnabar Island. 5. You will face a Pokemon with a name comprised of symbols. 6. Beat it or Run Away but do not catch it. 7. You will now have over 100 of the item in the 6th place. I suggest you duplicate items such as a Master Ball, Gold Balls, PP Ups, and Rare Candies. Missingno. Pokémon #000 First have a Pokémon with surf. Go in the first door inside the Pokémon lab on Cinnabar Island and trade with one of the trainers in there. Then surf along the east coast of Cinnabar Island, half on water, half on land. Eventually you will fight a bird called Missingno. (the fourth legendary bird?). It does lots of damage but is easy to defeat. It looks like a mass of dots flying around. just throw balls at it to catch it. Be warned, having this Pokémon can crash your Hall of Fame and mess up the graphics (all your Pokémon and the enemy Pokémon can get all warped in battle). It is number 000 in the Pokédex and doesn't have an entry. it has a high attack but all its other stats are really low. If you have an older model Gameboy (not Color or Pocket versions) you may risk your game by catching it. Daycare Secret The trick is: For Each Step You Take, Your Pokemon gets 1 Exp Point. Tree Top Cover Up Cut down a bush using the Cut HM. Then walk to were the bush you just cut down used to be. Pause and then save. Turn of the Game Boy and turn it back on again. When you start your saved game, Ash climbed a tree! Fight Safari Pokémon Elsewhere < To fight and capture Safari Zone Pokémon outside of the park, first go into the Safari Zone. Let the time run out when you're standing in a patch of grass which holds the Pokémon you want to catch. Step back outside and use FLY to Fly back to Cinnabar Island. Using SURF, surf up and down the right side of the shoreline, where you are half on shore and half in the water. You should then enter some battles with Safari Zone Pokémon! No more bait or rocks! It's sleep and Psybeam time! This also works with other areas of the game where you find wild Pokémon. Experiment and see what happens! Clone Pokémon (US) You need a friend for this. Trade the Pokémon to be cloned and have you friend get a Pokémon they don't care about. Trade them, and make sure the person getting the weak and common Pokémon can see the other's screen. When the receiver of the good Pokemon's screen says "waiting", turn off the Game Boy that's getting the bad Pokémon. When the other one says trade completed, turn that one off too. When you turn the games back on, you should both have the powerful Pokémon, but the weak Pokémon will be lost. Warning! This could delete a saved game or your Pokémon! Fight 100+ Level Pokemon I was reluctant to post this code because of the effect it would have on two player battles, that is it was almost like cheating. If you do decided to use these in battle, the other player should know about it. Okay, here goes. Perform the 99 Items code above, then after encountering 'M, keep surfing around for a while and you will run into Pokemon that are Lv 135 and above! It is possible to capture them. What's so valuable about this trick is that you might just run into Bulbasaurs, Charmaders and Squirtles! However, some copies of the game can do this better than others, and if you use the Pokemon in a battle other than a 2 player battle, it will revert back to a Lv. 100 Pokemon. Still, defeating these high level Pokemon is a quick way to earn up to 3000 Exp. Points! Go to sleep!.....OK wake up now! If you have a Pokémon who has Rest or if you can get TM44, your Pokémon can restore all his\her hit points (HP), in a span of 2 turns! Simply use Rest during battle (the Pokémon will fall asleep), then during your next turn, play the Poke Flute (Obtained when you save Mr. Fuji from the tower in the Pokémon Tower) your Pokémon will wake up ready to go! MASTER BALL TRICK Throw any kind of Pokeball (Greatball, Ultraball, or Pokeball), and after it is released from your hand, hold UP + B. The ball will act like a Masterball! I caught Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Snolax with this handy trick. It works, but takes a bit of practice to get right. The trick works on both versions. Legendary Birds Of all the legendary birds I've found Zapdos is the easiest to capture (which isn't saying much!) since it is possible to capture it when it has nothing wrong with its status (such as sleep or paralyze) and it is possible to capture it when it's health bar is more then just a sliver. Once you have captured Zapdos you can use it to quickly lower the health level of Articuno and Moltres (for these last two I needed to reduce their defense or make them go to sleep to even hit them with a Poké-ball). Moon Stones There are five Moon Stones, three of which are visible, two of which are not. 1) In the upper-lefthand corner of the first floor of Mt. Moon. 2) In the basement of the game corner. 3) In the bottom-right corner of Route 2 (CUT). 4) In Mt. Moon, before the Supernerd's platform, there is a corridor 4 spaces long and 1 space wide, go to the end of it and press A and poof! you have a Moon Stone. 5) In the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island, go up to the right side of one of the pillars on the right-hand side near the entrance hit A and it will say you found a Moon Stone. Unlimited chances to catch rare Pokémon Did you ever run into one of those Pokémon that you can only catch once? Here is a good trick to get as many shots as you want to catch those Pokémon! First ,find a rare Pokémon such as a Mewtwo. Then, right before you go into battle with it, save the game at that point. Finally, you can battle the Pokémon without worrying that you didn't catch it. If you screw up and you make it faint, just stop where you are and shut off the game. Then you can turn it back on, select continue and presto! You should be saved right before getting into battle with the Pokémon! Better Chance To Capture Pokémon There is a code for the USA version (it might work for the Japanese version too) to catch Pokémon easier. When you throw a Poké-ball hold Up and press down the "A" button as it closes on the Pokémon. The Poké-ball will shut tighter and it will be easier to catch the Pokémon. This trick will work best with the Ultra Ball. Harder Hitting Attacks This code is sorta like the "Better Chance to Catch Pokémon" code but it's for attack. Just hold the A button while your attacking and it will do more damage than if you didn't hold A. Phantom PC That's right, a Phantom PC. Go to Celadon City, then go south until you are by the Alley where the Game Corner is. Walk EAST until you are standing next to a bush. CUT the bush down and go SOUTH to the first building to the WEST.... this is the People Motel. Enter the Motel and walk NORTH until you hit the shelf, then walk EAST until you hit the wall. Now walk DOWN 2 spaces, the walk UP 1 space. Now press A and select something to do! Simply use the rod! Sometimes you can find rare water Pokémon this way. Even the Odds at Game Corner In the casino above the guy with the glasses that you usually find in gyms is a slot machine with great odds. The way I got a Porygon was simple but still long. Save the game when you hit the jackpot After a while the game is fixed and you will either get multiple wins, or hit the jackpot- doing that you eventually start to win several hundred at a time. By hitting the a button rapidly it sets a pattern to make sure you now when the jackpot comes up- the slot machine starts to slow down.
