The
Royal Sands
The above photo is of the BRAND NEW Royal Sands Resort, currently under construction in Cancun. The resort is scheduled to open in mid February. Reports are that a successful opening has now occurred and the resort is almost fully operational.
This page contains a series of photos I took at the Royal Sands during my visit there in November of 1999.

Here
is a view of the interior of the Royal Sands and the Sea view terraces facing
the beautiful blue Caribbean and white sand beach.
Another
view of the interior and the construction of the swimming pools that be featured
throughout the center area.

view of the South side of the interior and a future restaurant appears to be
located along the back corner.

to a view of the North side and one of the swim up bars that is under
construction.

a close up view of the swim up bar being worked on. I'll have a margarita
con sal, por favor.
The
South facing terraces will get plenty of sun.

photo of the beach in front of the Royal Sands looking North. Pay no
attention to the barbed wire fence.
We
sure would love to own one of these beach front villas. A beautiful view
is guaranteed!
Royal
Sands lock-off room. This shot taken in the model villa. The cute kid
definitely does not come with the room.

it is folks! The infamous Murphy bed in the living room. Folds down
out of the entertainment center.
Of
course what goes down must go up. Is that a real mattress? Looks a
lot more comfy than the old sofa bed.

shot of the bedroom furnishings from the model villa. Looks a bit
different from the other resorts.

view of the outside terrace. I like the curved railings, and the patio
furniture really looks first class.
The
kitchen looks fairly similar to what we have now.
