
Maintenance difficulty: This fish is easy to keep. Juveniles seem to acclimate better than adults though.
Maintenance: It is important that you feed Tangs a good variety of live, frozen, and prepared formula foods with emphasis in vegetable and spirulina. Best to feed small amounts several times a day so that the tang is at peak health.
Habitat: Found in the Red Sea and the western Indian Ocean. Swims at depths of 5 - 40 feet.
Foods: Mainly found grazing on algae in the wild.
Social Behaviours: Juveniles are found singly between rocks and corals in areas with strong currents while adults usually are found as pairs in the wild.
Sexual differences: Unknown as of now.
Light: No special requirements here.
Breeding Has not been done as far as I know.
Temperature: Normal temperatures for salt water fish is between 75 and 79 degrees.
Length/Diameter of fish: Adults can grow to 16 inches.
Minimum Tank Length/Size: A minimum 65 gallon aquarium I recommended.
Water Movement: No special requirements here either.
Water Region: Swims all over the aquarium usually.
Availability: This fish is usually readily available and is inexpensive. Sometimes adult specimens are expensive though.
