Airline Pilot's Historical Society

Showcase

Should anyone be curious about what happens to the TONS of stuff we make available to collectors, sim builders, museums, learning institutions and kids, here is a fine example.
Our good friend, Irving Jensen, of Sioux City, was a mildly enthusiastic collector that we met about 5 years ago. He shared our love of aviation and he has a passion for the 727 in particular.
Very quickly, he caught the "disease". He has a fine eye for detail, a determination that everything be as correct as the day it left the factory, and he has the patience to make it all come together.
Take a look at just a few of the projects that he has completed in the past months. Keep in mind that 90% of what you see was acquired (from us), in "as removed" condition,
which means decent but not like new. His restoration talents have produced what you see here.
What you don't see is that the backside is as nice as the front, right down to the wires and cannon plugs.

Here is another fine example of artifact preservation and restoration.
Irving's detailed eye and hand have returned this overhead panel to better than new condition.
Removed from 707, s/n 18375, born as Sabena OO-SJG, then flown as Air France F-BHSU; it is essentially "as flown".
The before and after photos speak for themselves.
(We love it when our stuff finds a good home!)

Another fine example of Irving's work...as nice as Boeing, yes?
!!!!!!!!
Irving's 737 museum project nearing completion...better paint job than UAL ever put on one.
