Greaves tend to be the distinctive badge of the veteran Aestivan warrior, and are not issued to legionaries in Iridines armed forces except for the decorative ones often awarded to Centurions. While they may be worn be legio members they are not standard equipment, and have fallen out of favor with most of Iridine's fighting men. The normal greaves are perhaps the best protection for the legs, save a good shield, that money can buy. Made of beaten bronze, these will protect against most blows, be it from a sword, or blunt weapon. Those who can support the weight, and are looking for added protection for the upper thighs, may wish to give thigh greaves a chance. They are heavy, and are hard to move in, but offer good protection. Like the normal greave, however, these are more in use with the Aestivan army, then that of Iridine.
