How can the ACHR Help You?

If your civil rights are under attack because of your sexuality or sexual orientation, the ACHR can help.

Although gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people are not protected by human rights ordinances in the Bloomington/Normal area, the ACHR actively compiles acts of discrimination and hate against members of the GLBT community in our area.

If you have been discriminated against, please contact the ACHR at achr@mailcity.com, and we'll give you advice on how to file complaints with the proper city officials and civil rights organizations.

If you don't want to file a complaint, but need to talk about the incident, we are available to discuss your situation with you. If we still can't help, we'll refer you to agencies that can assist you further.

Do not feel that you must suffer in silence -- there is help available through the ACHR.

NOTE: Our Community Links page has many addresses and phone numbers for helpful organizations from the local to the national level.
