Episode #233

CUT TO: INT. CORY MANSION - UPSTAIRS HALLWAY

Steven Frame was carrying two large boxes, and his father Jamie was carrying two even larger boxes.

Steven:  Dad, how come I don't get a room near Alli's room?

Jamie:  Because this end of the wing is where our family stays. The room at the end of the hall is mine and Lisa's.  The room on the right is the nursery for the baby and the room on the left is yours.

Steven:  I don't want the room next to yours and Lisa's. That isn't fair.

Jamie:  Steven, life's not always fair.  Besides, I want to keep an eye on you.

Steven:  I don't have to be watched that closely.  I mean come on don't you trust me?

Jamie:  When you prove to me that you can be trusted, we'll talk again.

Steven:  Great, so I leave Vicky and Jake's house where I had complete freedom to come here where I have no freedom?

Jamie:  Well, I'm sure you didn't have "complete freedom" at your mom's. You wanted to live here with us, Steven.  This is where you'll be staying.

Steven:  No, it isn't fair.  (Placing the boxes on the floor in his new room).

Jamie: Sorry, kiddo.  It's this or back to your mom's.

Steven:  I want the room across from Alli's, you know by the back stairs that lead to the kitchen.  You know I do get hungry in the middle of the night and I wouldn't want to be waking you and Lisa every time I get up to go eat.  You know, Scooby Doo, that could be
about six times on some nights.

Jamie:  Gee, Steven, if you have munchies that bad, maybe I better take you to the hospital for tests. You know you might have a tapeworm.  Then again, maybe it's because you've acquired a taste for marijuana?

Steven:  Sorry Daddio.  I don't smoke that wacky tabacky what are you nuts. That stuff is bad for you.

Jamie:  Well, thank God, you haven't flipped out on us completely.

Steven:  But alcohol isn't a drug.

Jamie:  Hate to tell you kiddo, but the food and drug administration will argue you on that point.  Hey maybe I should take you on a tour of the ER on a Friday night, then you can see how many people get brought in for treatment because of abusing alcohol.

Steven:  No, I don't think that I would like a tour of the emergency room on a Friday night.

Jamie:  Well, you need any help unpacking this stuff?

Steven: (pulling out a poster of a nude girl and hanging it on the wall): Isn't she hot looking daddio?

Jamie:  Steven, give me that. (takes the poster from Steven) You will not be hanging this smut on the walls in your grandmother's house.  If she saw this, she'd have a heart attack. I'll get rid of this for you.

Steven: You will do no such thing Jamie Frame.  I will not have you taking down my smut.  After all I get it for free on the internet.

Jamie:  Well, maybe you'll have your internet privileges revoked.

Steven:  Okay, you just do that buster brown.  I'm going to finish  unpacking.

Jamie:  You do that and if you decide to behave like a human, you can come and join Lisa and I for a movie before bed.

After his father left, Steven pulled out the ultimate weapon against any authority.  He pulled out a padlock and began screwing the components to the front of the door.  Then he took out another padlock and placed it on the back of the door.

Steven:  Okay Zippy, we will see just how you like that.  (Missy and Sara)

CUT TO: INT. SERGEI'S APARTMENT - BEDROOM

Sergei had been writing music all afternoon in his studio, but the thought of Alli trying to kill herself over him was unbearable. Everything he wrote ended up sad sounding. He sat down on his bed and then curled himself up into a ball. He was truly in torment.

He was thinking off all the sweet times that he and Alli had spent together just a few months ago. And then he couldn't help but think of all the times he had recently spent with Felicia.

Sergei: I can't be thinking about Alli. I love Felicia now.

He continued to be conflicted until he fell asleep. Sergei, with everything on his mind, naturally dreamed about Alli Fowler.

Alli: I'm back Sergei.

Sergei: I'm so glad that you are home.

Alli: I knew that you would see it my way. I missed you.

Sergei: I missed you too. I love you Alli.

Alli: I love you too Sergei.

They kiss.

In his dream they are in his apartment, at the very same place where he is sleeping.

Alli: How did Felicia take it when you told her?

Sergei: Not well, but she understood.

Alli: I thought she would. She can see that we love each other very deeply.

Sergei: Yes, she most certainly can.

Alli: Show me how much you love me Sergei. Show me now.

Sergei: Alli, don't you think we should wait?

Then for a moment Sergei's dream took him into a new place at a new time. He was standing in the Cory Chapel next to Alli Fowler.

Sergei: I do.

As the minister was saying his words about eternity, Sergei woke with a start.

Sergei: I'm not going to let her do this to me. Alli Fowler is just trouble. I love Felicia now. And I shouldn't even be thinking about Alli, why am I doing this to myself?

Sergei grabbed a few things from his studio and headed home towards Felicia and to safety. (Becky and Sara)

INT., IRIS' MANSION, LIVING ROOM

Iris is pacing while Leora sorts through correspondence.

LEORA:  Ms. Cory, wearing a hole in the floor won't make your granddaughter come back any sooner.

IRIS:  I just wish Dennis would call.  You don't know what hell it is, wondering if a loved one is even alive.

LEORA:  I don't?  Believe me, Iris, I could tell you-

The phone rings.

IRIS:  I hope that's Dennis with news.

Leora picks up the phone.

SPLIT SCREEN, INT., IRIS' LIVING ROOM; INT., RUSS' OFFICE

LEORA:  Cory residence.

RUSS:  Leora?  This is Dr. Matthews.

LEORA:  I don't think Ms. Cory want to talk to you, Dr.-

IRIS:  Get him off the phone!  We need to keep the line open!

RUSS:  I know better than that, Leora.  Actually, I'm calling to talk to my granddaughter.  I finished up here earlier than expected, and I wondered if I could drop in for a few minutes.

LEORA:  I don't think that will be possible.

RUSS:  Come on, now.  I know Iris is mad at me, but she can hardly keep me away from my own granddaughter.

LEORA:  It's not that-

IRIS:  (Hissing) Why are you still talking to him?

LEORA:  Excuse me.  (To Iris)  He wants to talk to Sara.  I guess Dennis didn't think to call him.

IRIS:  Give me that phone!  (Grabs receiver) I see you tore yourself away from Sharlene long enough to remember you had a family, but I'm afraid it's a little too late.

RUSS:  Iris, for the final time, there's nothing between Sharlene and me. We met last night by accident and were just sharing a friendly cup of coffee when you found us together and jumped to conclusions.

IRIS:  Yes, I'm sure it's all my fault.  I grieve over everything I've done to hurt you-starting with asking you out in the first place.

RUSS:  Iris, we're not going to settle this over the phone.  Will you just let me speak to Sara?

IRIS:  She isn't here.

RUSS:  Well, where is she?

IRIS:  She ran away.  Probably because it was the only way she could get you and Dennis to notice her.

RUSS:  Ran away?  When did you find this out?

IRIS:  This morning.  She stole some money and jewelry, packed her bags and left.  Dennis is out looking for her now.

RUSS:  This is terrible!  Is there anything I can do to help?

IRIS:  Of course.  You can use it as an excuse to go cry on Daisy Mae's shoulder.

RUSS:  Iris, this isn't getting us anywhere.  Put Leora back on so I can-

IRIS:  No, I need this line open in case Dennis finds something.

RUSS:  Well, would you ask Dennis to call me?

IRIS:  I'm sure he has more important things to do than helping you assuage your guilt.

RUSS:  Iris, that's not fair.  At least promise to keep me posted.

IRIS:  I'm sure Lorna can fill you in on anything she finds out from Dennis.  I hear pillow talk can go a long way.

Iris slams the receiver down and resumes pacing.

LEORA:  Do you really think that was wise?

IRIS:  It's high time somebody put that pompous Don Juan wannabe in his place!

LEORA:  What if Sara's in a hospital somewhere?  Dr. Matthews could probably help you find out if she were.

IRIS:  I'm sure Joe's got all of that covered.  No, if Russ wants to treat people like this, then he needs to learn the consequences of his actions.

LEORA:  But, Ms. Cory-

IRIS:  The topic is closed.  Draw me a bath.  I need to relax.

LEORA:  Yes, Ms. Cory.

Leora goes to the front stairs as we

FADE OUT. (Frank)

CUT TO: INT. TITO'S PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM

Tito:  Remy, don't you think that you should be getting home?  I can drive you.

Remy:  I want to stay here tonight.

Tito:  Again?  You haven't been going home very much at all lately.

Remy:  My mom, she is really bothering me about this assault thing and I don't want to talk about it anymore.

Tito:  I don't blame you.  But, your mom was missing for nearly two months Remy, you should want to spend time with her.

Remy:  (lighting a cigarette):  Tito, she's in bed now and there is no reason for me to go home.

Tito:  Remy, I wish you would put out that damn thing.

Remy:  Why? You smoke.  It shouldn't matter if I smoke or not.

Tito:  You have a point there, but you never really did like smoking and I just can't stand to see you start.

Remy:  Face it Tito, I smoke.  And I drink too.  What is the big deal?

Tito:  The big deal is that I care about you and I don't want to see you hurt yourself with this stuff.

Remy:  Tito what are we?

Tito:  What do you mean?

Remy:  Are we friends?  Are we a couple?  Everyone seems to think we are a couple these days and I am just not so sure.

Tito:  Of course we are a couple.  That is what I have wanted all along.

Remy:  Then stop acting like my father.

Tito: I'm not acting like your father. I just don't want to see you harm yourself with this needless stuff.

Remy:  Why don't you just shut your mouth and kiss me.

Tito leaned over and started kissing Remy, the two of them sunk into Tito's couch in passion.  (Becky)
