On September 30th, 1998 Entertainment Asylum hosted a chat with Felicity's Amy Jo Johnson. Johnson portrays Felicity's best friend, 'Julie.' Amy Jo first obtained fame as the pink Power Ranger. On the big screen, Amy Jo can be seen in "Without Limits," and she recently completed filming a starring role in the independent film "Cold Hearts." What would you rather be called by your fans? Amy Jo or AJ?

Question: Who were your inspirations growing up?
Amy Jo Johnson: My inspirations growing up were my mother, Jodie Foster, and Sally Field.
EAMC Host: How many episodes have you and the Felicity cast taped?
Amy Jo Johnson: We are on number seven.
Question: If you could, would you guest star on Power Rangers?
Amy Jo Johnson: Umm, no, because I got off the show two years ago, I am very busy now with the schedule for Felicity. I had fun when I did it.
Question: Are you surprised by all of the publicity your show has been getting?
Amy Jo Johnson: Yeah, it has been an absolutely amazing experience to have so much buzz about the show without people even experiencing it yet.
Question: How's it like working on the set of Felicity?
Amy Jo Johnson: I love going to work because we all get along, it is so much fun, there is so much creative energy!
Question: Where are you originally from?
Amy Jo Johnson: I am from Cape Cod, MA.
Question: Do you think Felicity is a knock off of Dawson's Creek?
Amy Jo Johnson: Absolutely not! It has its own appeal, it is a completely different show, and it has a completely different tone from Dawson's Creek.
Question: Who is your favorite singer?
Amy Jo Johnson: Favorite singer....Natalie Merchant. I love her.
Question: How do you decide which roles to take? Have you turned some down you wished you hadn't?
Amy Jo Johnson:
Question: I've been a fan since you were on Power Rangers. Are you going to have a singing career like Jennifer Love Hewitt had along with acting?
Amy Jo Johnson: I have a band, I am going to pursue my music career also.
Question: I watched your new show last night and thought it was pretty cool! What can we look forward to in the upcoming episodes?
Amy Jo Johnson: Each episode is written so well, and there are so many different story lines for each character, it will be exciting!
Question: Amy Jo, what is the best pickup line a guy has ever used to hit on you?
Amy Jo Johnson: I don't know....
Question: Amy Jo...Are you romantically involved at this time?
Amy Jo Johnson: That is my own personal business! ((smile))
Question: Hi Amy, I used to watch power rangers when I was younger how was the experience?
Amy Jo Johnson: It was an amazing experience. It was the first job I got when I got to town. It was a lot like going to school, I really learned how to be in front of the camera.
Question: How does it feel being a huge star and working on two TV shows that are or will be a success?
Amy Jo Johnson: I feel very lucky, I feel totally blessed to part of this show, Felicity.
Question: What 3 words best describe you?
Amy Jo Johnson: Silly, Caring, Animal-lover.
Question: What made you want to act?
Amy Jo Johnson: It is something I wanted to do since I was seven. I don't really know where it came from.
Question: Amy Jo, who do you look up to when you are feeling down?
Amy Jo Johnson: My mother.
Question: I was wondering if there was any good address to send you fan mail, and do you read all the fan mail you get?
Amy Jo Johnson: Send it to WB, Warner Brothers.
Question: Do you know you have a fan club?
Amy Jo Johnson: Yes! The woman who runs it is a very great person!
Question: Amy, will you be in any future films?
Amy Jo Johnson: I really hope so.
Question: Do you really play the guitar?
Amy Jo Johnson: Yes, I do. I have been playing for three years.
Question: Amy what's your favorite movie?
Amy Jo Johnson: Harold and Maude.
Question: What has the transition been like from doing a children's program to a serious drama?
Amy Jo Johnson: Well, there has been a two-year gap. I have had time to study and take classes and I did a few movies of the week.
Question: I'm a high school male. Is acting worth trying? It seems so hard. Acting is so competitive.
Amy Jo Johnson: It's worth trying if it is something you truly love, the art of it. I don't look at it on the competitive side, I think there are enough parts for everybody.
Question: What show would you like to guest star on?
Amy Jo Johnson: I would love to guest star on Ally McBeal.
Question: Do you like The Dave Matthews Band?
Amy Jo Johnson: I do!
Question: Amy, do you think that your success in Felicity will allow you to move into film roles like Jennifer Love Hewitt or Sarah Michelle Geller?
Amy Jo Johnson: I very much hope so.
Question: What kind of roles do you want in film?
Amy Jo Johnson: I would love to do really good independent, or start off with some small parts in some really big films.
Question: Got any favorite bands?
Amy Jo Johnson: Date with Dizzy, my friend's band!
Question: Why did you take Felicity's man?
Amy Jo Johnson: Well, I am not the writer! And I redeem myself in the next episode.
Question: Amy Jo, do you think of yourself as a role model for younger teens?
Amy Jo Johnson: I guess anybody who is put in a spotlight with younger viewers watching them has to be a good role model.
Question: Do you have any plans to do additional work for Disney?
Amy Jo Johnson: I would love to.
Question: Amy would you ever try for a horror movie role?
Amy Jo Johnson: It is not exactly what I want to do.
Question: Do you keep in touch with any of the Power Rangers?
Amy Jo Johnson: David Yost, he is one of my best friends.
Question: Is it hot in those Ranger Costumes?
Amy Jo Johnson: Yes! It was very hot and stuffy!
Question: Amy Jo, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Amy Jo Johnson: Five years...Hopefully I will have a successful career in features, and hopefully I will have an album or two out.
