Reliant Energy of Houston is planning on building a 870 MegaWatt electrical generating facility on the South East corner of Butterfield and Eola Roads .

Members of CAPPRA held an important meeting on Wednesday March 8th at Cafe 59 located on Rt 59 and Ferry Road. The purpose of this meeting was to bring all residents up to speed on what has been doing so far to stop this power plant from being built in our neighborhood. The meeting was well attended and several local government officials attended (except from the City of Aurora). We are all fighting VERY hard to keep this plant out of our area and you owe it to yourself to be updated on our progress.
Please print out a special letter we have set up to write a personal letter to the I.E.P.A. expressing your concerns about this facility. Remember to include you name and address and be sure to sign it at the bottom. Bring it to the meeting on Wednesday March 8th and we will forward it to the I.E.P.A. or mail it to CAPPRA, P.O. Box 609, Warrenville, Il. 60555-0609. We must have all letters by March 31, 2000!
There are also several important Aurora City Council meetings coming up soon. Please call the CAPPRA Hotline at 630-375-7795 for messages about these meetings. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
In order to show the Aurora City Council that the citizens of Aurora are opposed to the project, please contact any and all council members and express your feelings to them about this.
