In the winter of 1854 Valentine WEBER, son of George Weber and Eva HUMMEL, and his bride to be, Magdaline GAUBATZ, came to the United States from Germany. They were married in St.Louis, Missouri on January 8, 1855. After the wedding they immediately moved to Lively Grove, Illinois where they engaged in farming. They lived in a log house and raised nine children. The childrens' names were: Mary, Frank, William, Bernard, George, Margaret, Henry, Elizabeth, and Anna. The children all grew up and married, moving to different towns, namely: St.Libory, Belleville, and Carlyle, Illinois, St.Louis, Missouri, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Detroit, Michigan. All except Bernard. He stayed on the family farm. The Valentine Weber family was one of the seventeen families that founded the St.Anthony's Catholic Church in Lively Grove.

On November 9, 1899 Bernard Weber married Clara HIEMEYER. Shortly after their marriage they moved to St.Louis but lived there only a few years. They returned to the Weber farmstead where they farmed until 1946. They were blessed with six children: Albert born in 1900, Leo born in 1903, Eugene born in 1906, Florence born in 1911, Herbert born in 1913, and Stella born in 1917

Albert married Frances LEUCHTEFELD and farmed near Lively Grove until his retirment in 1965. He died on May 6, 1978. Leo and Eugene both attended the Michigan State Automotive School in Detroit. Leo married Helen HOCKLE from Jonesboro, Arkansas and Eugene married Eleanore BERBOHM from Detroit. Leo and Eugene were both General Motors employees in the Cadillac division in Detroit. They both died in 1966 from heart attacks.

Florence married Howard LOVE from Terre Haute, Indiana. They lived in Corpus Christie, Texas. Howard died on November 15, 1955. In march of 1959 Florence remarried to John SHERWOOD and they now live in Corpus Christie. John passed away a few years ago.

Stella married Bert PROBLYS from Nashville, Illinois and they operated "Bert's Confectionary" in Trenton, Illinois where they resided. Bert died on November 5, 1977.

Herbert married Agnes HOFF on September 14, 1946 and continued to operate his parents farm. In 1947 Bernard and Clara moved to Trenton near their daughter Stella. Herbert and Agnes resided on the farm and raise eight children: James, JoAnn, Edward, Mary, Alice, Linda, Dennis, and Christine. Herbert died back in 1985.

James married Susan McGUIRE on August 27, 1976. They raised three children: Joseph, who is presently a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and is happily married to Sandra BIRCHARD, and Karin who goes to Junior College in San Jose, CA, and Elizabeth who is a senior in highschool.

JoAnn married Peter GEPPERT and they raised four children: Jeana, who wed Harlan Kelley in July 1999, and Peter, Isaac, and Rachel.

Eddie stayed on the farm to work the Weber land

Mary married Thomas HAVEL and are raising two kids: Thomas and Luke.

Alice married to Rick Jollenbeck. They also raise acouple of children: Sarah and Malia.

Linda married James ECKERT. Together they are raising a child of their own, Michael.

Dennis moved away from the farm and lives in St. Louis, MO

Christine is well on her way in the medical field.

In 1972 the Weber farm was awarded a Centennial Farm sign and certificate from Governor Ogilvie
