"The World Through My Eyes", colored pencil, 1994
Streets of Chicago
Tens of Hundreds of Thousands of Millions
of solitary people passing by
Rushing to Work, to School, and Home
never pausing to meet my eye
Faces of Sorrow, of Happiness, of Worry
of events reflecting their individual lives
Reflecting their Desires, their Successes, their Failures
their aspirations to which each strives
I sit at the Table, at the Restaurant, at the Corner
at the window, watching the world, and sigh
They are Rushing and Reflecting, never Watching nor Pausing
to absorb all around them, i ask myself why?
