"Untitled", charcoal, 1995.

She Used to Believe in Fairytales

She used to believe in fairytales
She used to rely on fate
She used to dream of "someday"
And didn't mind the wait

She used to be satisfied
Watching others find their prince
Because she thought her chance would come
Though that didn't make much sense

And as her heart was torn to shreds
Until nothing remained
She continued to think it would all work out
If she could just get through the pain

As today became tomorrow
And the years passed by
Her "someday" turned to never
Leaving her alone to die

She used to believe in fairytales
She put her faith in them from the start
And while others found their true love
She died of a broken heart.
