Amber Lee Corwin was born on December 21, 1978 to Patrick and Gayle Corwin. She lives in Hermosa Beach, CA, and trains in Harbor City, California. Amber is coached by Scott Wendland at All Year FSC. Her choreographer is Cindy Stuart.
Amber has been skating in the upper competitive ranks for five years now. In 1993, she placed 6th in the Novice Division at Southwest Pacifics.
In 1994, Amber moved up to the junior level, and did very well there. She placed fourth at Pacific Coasts and first at Southwest Pacifics. Amber also made her first trip to Nationals this year, where she placed eighth in the junior level.
Amber continued to progress and the next year, and she moved up to seniors, the top level of competition. She made it to Nationals again. This time, she placed 16th, but she was competing against the very best skaters in America.
In 1996, Amber began competing internationally. She placed 10th at the NHK Trophy and 3rd at the Vienna Cup. She also jumped up ten places at Nationals, placing sixth.
In 1997, Amber placed first at both Pacific Coast Sectionals and Blue Swords. Also, she placed higher than ever at Nationals, 5th.
In 1998, she placed 6th at Nationals and 2nd at the Junior Champion Series Final.
Next year, Amber plans to continue skating competitively for America. Watch for her next year. I guarantee Amber Corwin is a name you'll want to keep in mind.
Amber's ultimate goal is to compete in the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA.
