Cheats #1. Get lots of items: To get almost infinite of any item you want, first I recomend you have beeten the game. First, go to your item list and have the item you want alot of the sixth item on your list. Then go to the guy who teaches you how to catch a weedle in Viridian City and say NO to have him teach you how to catch a Weedle. Once he's done with the demonstation, go fly to Cinnabar Islands and surf up and down the right coast, half land, half water. Then you will run into either a missingno. or a weird pokemon thats all weird and crapy. Run away from him. Once you've run away from him the item sixth on your item list will be weird, but once you use the item enough, youll have 99 of it. You can keep doing this cheat as much as you want.

Cheat #2. The fourth Moon stone: Go fly to Cinnabar Islands and go into the pokemon mansion. Once in there you will see a few pillars on each side of the main hall. one of the pillars (I dont remember which one exactly) on the right side you need to click on it and you will get a moon stone.

Cheat #3. Over lv.100 pokemon: Go to Viridian city and have the Weedle guy demonstrate how to catch a pokemon. Then fly to Cinnabar Islands and surf up and down the right coast (half land, half water) You will then eventually run into a over lv.100 pokemon. You can use rare candies on it until lv.255. After lv.255, it will go back down to lv.0. Once you get into battle and kill a guy with him, he'll go back down to lv.100

Other cheats Missingno.; Pokemon #000 Submitted by Phillip Braham & Michael Ochs First have a pokemon with surf and surf up and down the east coast of cinnabar islands. Before you can fight Missingno. you have to go in the first door inside the pokemon lab on Cinnibar Island and trade with one of the trainers in there. Eventually you might fight called missingno. It does lots of damage but is easy to kill. it looks like a mass of dots flying around. just throw balls at it to catch it. Be warned, having this pokemon can crash your game and stuff up the graphics (all your Pokemon and the enemy Pokemon can get all warped). it is number 000 in the pokedex and doesnt havent an entry. it has a high attack but all its other stats are really low. If you dont want to risk your game don't catch it, but it only appears once.

Fight Safari Pokemon Elsewhere Submitted by NovaAngelX / AtomicG64@aol.com/ Ammended byjpar72@gateway.net To fight and capture Safari Zone Pokemon outside of the park, first go into the park. Let the time run out when you're standing in a patch of grass which holds the Pokemon you want to catch. Step back outside and use FLY to Fly back to Cinnabar Island. Using SURF, surf up and down the right side of the shoreline, where you are half on shore and half in the water. You should then enter some battles with Safari Zone Pokemon! No more bait or rocks! It's sleep and Psybeam time! This also works with other areas of the game where you find wild Pokemon. Experiment and see what happens!

Clone Pokemon (US)  Submitted by Kingmog55 You need a friend for this. Trade the pokemon to be cloned and have you friend get a pokemon they dont care about. Trade them, and make sure the person getting the weak and common pokemon can see the other's screen. When the reciever of the good pokemon's screen says "waiting", turn off the Game Boy that's getting the bad pokemon. When the other one says trade completed, turn that one off too. When you turn the games back on, you should both have the powerful pokemon, but the weak Pokemon will be lost. Warning! This could delete a saved game or your Pokemon!

Go to sleep!.....OK wake up now! submitted by Charlie Michaud If you have a pokemon who has Rest or if you can get tm44, your pokemon can restore all his\her hit  points (HP), in a span of 2 turns! Simply use Rest during battle (the pokemon will fall asleep), then during your next turn, play the Poke Flute (Obtained when you save Mr. Fuji from the tower in the Pokemon Tower) your pokemon will wake up ready to go!

Legendary Birds  submitted by Cathy grand@vm.temple.edu Of all the legendary birds I've found Zapados is the easiest to capture (which isn't saying much!) sence it is possible to capture it when it has nothing wrong with its status (such as sleep or paralize) and it is possible to capture it when it's health bar is more then just a sliver. Once you have captured Zapados you can use it to quickly lower the health level of Articuno and Moltres (for these last two I needed to reduce their defence or make them go to sleep to even hit them with a pokeball).

Moon Stones Submitted by DuPnt24Kid@aol.com There are five Moon Stones, three of which are visible, two of which are not. 1) In the upper-lefthand corner of the first floor of Mt. Moon.  2) In the basement of the game corner. 3) In the bottom-right corner of Route 2 (CUT). 4) In Mt. Moon, before the supernerd's platform, there is a corridor 4 spaces long and 1 space wide, go to the end of it and press A and poof! you have a Moon Stone. 5) In the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island, go up to the right side of one of the pillars on the right-hand side near the entrance hit A and it will say you found a Moon Stone.

Unlimited chances to catch rare Pokemon  submitted by VirusAoD/Anonymus@angelfire.com Did you ever run into one of those Pokemon that you can only catch once? Here is a good trick to get as many shots as you want to catch those Pokemon! First ,find a rare Pokemon such as a Mewtwo. Then, right before you go into battle with it, save the game at that point. Finally, you can battle the Pokemon without worrying that you didn't catch it. If you screw up and you make it faint, just stop where you are and shut off the game. Then you can turn it back on, select continue and presto! You should be saved right before getting into battle with the Pokemon!

Better Chance To Capture Pokemon  submitted by Alex/Alexdeh@aol.com There is a code for the USA version (it might work for the Japanese version too) to catch Pokemon easier. When you throw a Poke-ball hold Up and press down "A" button as it closes on the Pokemon. The poke-ball will shut tighter and it will be easier to catch the Pokemon.

Harder Hitting Attacks  submitted by Dusty This code is sorta like the "Better Chance to Catch Pokemon" code but it's for attack. Just hold the A button while your attacking and it will do more damage than if you didn't hold A.

Fish in Statues Submitted by Andrew Daily/dailya@pop.belmont.edu It's wierd, but you can fish in statues! Simply use the rod! Sometimes you can find rare water Pokemon this way.

Even the Odds at Game Corner  Submitted by Andrew Daily/dailya@pop.belmont.edu In the casino above the guy with the glasses that you usually find in gyms is a slot machine with great odds. The way I got a Porygon was simple but still long. Save the game when you hit the jackpot After a while the game is fixed and you will either get multiple wins, or hit the jackpot- doing that you eventually start to win several hundred at a time. By hitting the a button rapidly it sets a pattern to make sure you now when the jackpot comes up- the slot machine starts to slow down.
