UNHUMAN RIGHTS TODAY

The massacres and violations of the turkish government in northern Cyprus and Ankara do not stop there. As the powers that preach for human rights and democratic ways are talking to resolve this injustice "What Happens in Cyprus?":

June 3, 1996. An unarmed Greek Cypriot National Guard Soldier was shot and killed inside the U.N. buffer zone. As U.N. soldiers tried to give aid to the wounded guard, turkish soldiers fired at them. President of Cyprus G. Clerides said: "this was a cold blooded murder" as the turkish leader of northern occupied Cyprus said: "it was an unfortunate incident". 19 year old Stelios Panayi, a refugee from Kythea in occupied Cyprus was another act of the murders imposed on the Cypriot people by the cold blooded murders, the turks.

August 10, 1996. A peaceful anti-occupation rally turned deadly in the buffer zone. The turkish soldiers attacked the demonstrators and a 24 year old expecting father, Tasos Isaac, was beaten to death with stones and batons. 41 more injured 5 of which were police officers -- 2 serving for the British bases.

August , 1996. A Greek Cypriot demonstrator was shot numerously and killed. 26 year old Solomos Spirou Solomou had had enough. He went in the buffer zone, unarmed, as he attempted to remove a dirty, unhuman, red rag from a pole. As he climbed the pole a turkish soldier blasted fire. (All caught on tape). Then the turkish soldiers fired at civilians, British police men and Greek Cypriot policemen, while wounding many.

Sunday October 13, 1996. A 50 year old unarmed Greek Cypriot refugee, Petros Kakoullis, shot and killed with hands up. Petros Koukoullis was gathering snails with his son in law before he became the victim of another "unfortunate incident".

One barbaric injustice followed by another and this is an ongoing 'event.' How many more lives have to be sacrificied? How many more human rights have to be violated? How much longer are the Cypriots supposed to stand by and wait for a peaceful solution when Denktash and Ankara provoke these unhuman injustices. HOW MUCH MORE????!!
