This is not going to be so great for us. HIDE! We could end up being put in a dress and taken for a ride in a perambulator.
Graphics get changed often around here so please RELOAD often to make sure you get the latest!
I will be adding other collectibles in the future so stop in often. New pages or items added to a list will have the word NEW in front of it. This only means it is new to my list, not necessarily new to the product line. This will help you see updates and where they are located. Burma Shave SignsIf you remember "Burma Shave Slogans" we share the same time frame. In 1925 Allan Odell asked his father (Clinton) for money for this great sales idea. So with $200.00 the Burma Shave wooden roadside signs came into being. This idea for selling Burma Shave really took off. Soon his brother Leonard was helping Allan and signs were going up everywhere. The first signs were all sales pitches for their product. But soon, humor and road side wisdom were added. At the height of their popularity there were 7,000 signs across the United States. The familiar white and red signs grouped into 4, 5, or 6 signs were part of American travel. The signs cheered us up during the war years and the depression. But by the 50's things were changing and billboards came into being. The last sign was in 1963. No more red and white nuggets of roadside wisdom to ease the journey.
Along the road. How sad to see, Your out of mode."
