Due South..
Due SOUTH is a Canadian TV show that pairs a Mountie
and an American detective fighting crime on the mean
streets of Chicago, Illinois. Constable Benton Fraser
of the RCMP orginally came to Chicago on the trail of
his father's killer. When the captured man turned out
to be another Mountie, he was exiled from Canada and
returned to Chicago to take up his post as deputy
liasion officer to the Canadian Consulate. His
partner, orginally one Detective Raymond Vecchio,
was a sarcastic, slick-dressing, loud-mouthed guy
who secretly had a kind heart, especially when it
came to stranded Mounties. The two men, though their
views in many areas widely differed, soon became
close friends. In season three, however, Fraser's
and Ray's partnership got put on hold when Ray was
forced to go undercover with the Mob. When Fraser
returned from a vacation up North, he found a strange
new Ray waiting for him with no explanation-
Detective Stanley Raymond Kowalski, the man brought
in to impersonate Ray Vecchio. Though confused by
the change, Fraser managed to solve his and Ray K's
first case, and their friendship was off to an
interesting if rocky start. Through all the
confusions of the past three years, Fraser's
constant companion and best friend has been his
possibly-deaf, junk food-loving and willful half
wolf/half Siberian husky, Diefenbaker.
