IWRG from Arena Naucalpan taped May 16!!!!!!!!

***Zonick vs Caballero Azteca.-

-- They go back and forth trading moments of control, mostly restholds and some rudo-oriented offense, punches, cornersplashes, slaps, etc, Caballero works on Zonick's right leg and tries to unlace the tecnico's mask for some time. Zonick goes to the top turnbuckle, misses a flying plancha, Caballero Azteca goes to the top as well, but the tecnico rolls away from the moonsault, Zonick takes the match with a submission hold.

*** Mercurio Rojo, Arai, Mochizuki and Rockambole jr vs Bruly, Rully, Circus and Rody (/w Tonky).- Oh no! More Payasos!! Although Bruly and Rully had been OK so far, I have no hopes on this team, I don't know who is who, so take care reading the following:

1.- The first fall of the match had a lot of matwork, most of the rudos (I'm not convinced on Rockambole's work yet, although his rudo persona is quite good) work very well here with the Super Payasos, they soon get the crowd into the match with Rockambole entering to either attack Tonky or break the Super Payasos' holds. Eventually, the pace goes faster as the tecnicos start hitting their acrobatics offense, the end comes with one of the Super Payasos pinning Mercurio after a plancha, while the Japanese rudos are pinned with a couple of hurracanranas.

2.- The tecnicos kept ahead starting this fall, but soon, the rudo beatdown takes place, the fall goes to the rudos in less than 4 minutes. 3.- The rudo momentum last like 1 minute as one of the Super Payasos starts manhandling all of the rudos making them attack each other, the Mexican rudos and the Japanese rudos are not getting along after this secuence... Another Payaso enters the ring, but Rockambole takes him to la esquina del dolor so the rudos can whack them a little, they get to a pin-break segment, the match comes to an end with one of the tecnicos bringing down Mercurio and Arai with double clothesline, then pinning Mochi with a Hurracanrana, another Payaso does a plancha on both fallen rudos and is assisted by the unmasked Super Payaso to take the match.

*** Dr Cerebro, Maniac Cop and Bombero Infernal vs Ultimo Vampiro, Star Boy and Moonwalker.-

1.- The rudos jump on Ultimo Vampiro as soon as they can, beating him up pretty badly, while cleaning the ring when Moonwalker and Star Boy wanted to help (what happened to the Starboy vs Cerebro feud?). Maniac Cop and Dr Cerebro go after Star Boy and Moonwalker while Bombero Infernal focuses on punishing Ultimo Vampiro (so Bombero-Vampiro feud is ahead, I guess, expect Vampiro to take the IWRG title). Bombero rips Ultimo Vampiro's mask open, beats him a while, and the rudos take the fall by total blowout.

2.- The 'lets beat Ultimo Vampy to the death' is reestablished by the 3 rudos, untill Bombero Infernal hits Maniac Cop with missile kicks after Ultimo Vampiro dodges, the tecnicos rally back, tecnico brawling, no dives... later, things cool down a little, they got to work 1-on-1, Moonwalker works a little better than the previous times I had seen him, but I'm not impressed with him yet... Star Boy, Bombero and Dr Cerebro start working their usual spots, Star Boy does a new one, they are on the ring side, Star Boy steps on the barrier and does a (moonsault like) flip conecting into an armdrag with Bombero, a spot usually done in the ring, but this time, done outside of it, looked cool... next, the ending comes with a very stupid spot in which Dr Cerebro hits a plancha on both of his parters so the tecnicos get the pin.

3.- The final caida opens with all of the guys exchanging pin attempts or submission holds, but no one getting defeated, all six men enter the ring and the rudos put the tecnicos on the starfish hold! Shouldn't that be the other way around?! Cerebro and Maniac Cop put Moonwalker and StarBoy on submission holds, they don't see how Ultiom Vampiro powerbombs and takes the match by pinning Bombero Infernal.

*** Fantassy vs Rey Cuervo--- Mask vs Mask.- After a couple of mano a mano matches, they set this match, which should be used to put Fantassy over. I wonder if we'll (or I) see Rey Pantera after this? On the previous match, the rudo had won 2-0 and completely destroyed Fantassy's right shoulder, so the storyline here was that Rey Cuervo was going after that shoulder.

1.- Fantassy won the first fall while they were showing the ending of their previous match, Fantassy did a bodyslam and used a boston crab. 2.- Fantassy is working as rudo, dominating the fall with some shoulderblocks, fireman carry slams, and a senton, Rey Cuervo recovers after the tecnico misses a top turnbuckle senton, Rey uses some slaps and shoulderblocks, while Fantassy reacted with some back breakers, and then, with a shoulder breaker, which looked as if it was going to be a martinete... The referee helps Rey Cuervo a little and the rudo takes it from there with a lenghty beating, ripping his mask off as the tecnico juiced, the only highspot was one somersault plancha from the second rope inside the ring to the floor on Fantassy, the rudo took the fall with an armbar.

3.- They go back and forth for a short time, Fantassy returns to his rudo mode ripping and biting Rey Cuervo's mask, brawling, Rey Cuervo reacts, kicks, punches, etc, then Fantassy chop, stomps, the referee takes sides with the rudo, of course, Cuervo misses an inside the ring second rope quebrada, so the tecnico gets a 2 count, Fantassy misses a senton, Cuervo hits a diving headbutt and continues biting Fantassy, who reacts with a powerslam for the second near fall, Cuervo gets a close fall of his own with a sunset flip rana, time for tope suicida, more missed moes, pin attemptts, Fantassy puts the rudo into a boston crab, Rey Cuervo submits, Fantassy doesn't let go so it looks as if the result will be reversed... but no, Rey Cuervo is said to be Julio Islas fron Tulancingo Hidalgo, age 30, Santo was from Tulancingo as well... but this is actually Super Crazzy's brother, but Rey Cuervo is not close to his brother's qualite, although has a good persona...

*** Shiima Nobunaga vs Micke el suicida Segura for the IWRG intercontinental middleweight title (or was it welter?).- Taru is on Shiima's corner, he looks kind of cool as second, way better than as a westler... weird.

1.- Micke dominates with half powerbomb, heel kick, kneedrops, next, Shimma comes with some leg locks, whips and kicks, but the fall goes to the tecnico via Juvi driver. 2.- Shiima controls with some slaps and punches, tries some submissions and pins but to no avail, he keeps beating el Suicida with some of his patented corner kneesplashes, and then hangs Micke upside down from the top turnbuckle, leaving the tecnico at the mercy of the Japanese horde of seconds, as well as some of Nobunaga's dropkicks, Micke manages to send Shiima out of the ring to hit a tope suicida, but Shiima recovers by droping the tecnico to the mat when Micke tried some flying headscissors... Shiima uses a Michinoku Driver 2 to get the fall count even. (-- Micke's driver was more like Juventud in which he lifts the oponent on his shoulder and then slams him forward and lands seated, Shiima's was more like a headlock with leglock -he made Micke to cross his legs- and then the driver--).

3.- Shiima has the tide of the match on his side so he opens with some bronco rides, works over the tecnico with some legdrops and whips, then goes for some submissions, Micke stages the comeback by landing on the apron after a back body drop, but Shiima is not giving any advantage so he does a neckbreaker that sent the tecnico to the floor! This leaves the tecnico open for a near cornerpost tope suicida! Back on the ring, Shiima gets a 2 count with a fisherman suplex, Micke does a hoganesque return with punches and a frankensteiner, then gets near falls with: moonsault, hurracanrana, and a casita. Mike goes to the top turnbuckle to do a moonsault which Shiima dodges, but Mike lands on his feet, anyway, Nobunaga decks him with a clothesline, this is time for Shiima's pin attempts, with a Gory special, and a bridge. The exchange some moves, Mike goes to the top turnbuckle but Nobunaga gets him there, he tries to do a corner suplex, but Mike is not on position for that, so he slaps the Japanese off the top, Shiima follows with a rising upercut (shoryuken!), and then an overhead powerslambomb, Air Shiima (frog splash), but Mike kicks out!!SHIIMADRIVER, AIR SHIIMA, 123, its over!

AAA-Aired on May 23rd, on Televisa.

***Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro (champ), for the Minis National title.-MOTY watch out!!!

-- The matwork consist of irish whips , armdrags, takedowns, and scattered pin attempts.Octagoncito speeds the match up with those spinning everywhere armdrags, one of which sent Abismito to the floor, so Octagoncito could hit a top rope quebrada! He barely made contact with Mini Abismo... the mini rudo starts balancing the match with missile kicks, hints a german locomotion suplex, but only delivers 2 of them, and then nails the mini tecnico with an over the top rope back body drop! Octagoncito takes charge once again, sent Abismo to the floor and hit a top rope springboard tornillo! They made it back to the ring, where Octagoncito uses a rock bottom to set mini Abismo Negro ready to take a top rope 720š tornillo (which seems to made no contact on the rudo at all, but looked good), which was all Octagoncito needed to take the match and the title. After that, the big Abismo (II) came to the ringside and the Octagoncito beating took place. Very good match, although I think it could have been better.

*** Payasos vs Espectros+Monje Loco.- Payasos were Coco Azul, Rojo and Negro, since Coco Amarillo is unmasked now and out of the team, new Payaso is Coco Rosa, who doesn't look like the other Payasos. It looks as if Coco Amarillo will become 'el Indomito' once again and join Texano and Cobarde (Cobarde was also one of the Payasos some time ago) as a new team with old guys...

1.- At the bell, the Espectros attack, soon, they get DQ, this was, I guess, because at that time, it started raining quite a lot, so they rushed the match. 2.-More brawling, somehow, everyone of the rudos but Hijo del Espectro got defeated, still, they didn't end the match, Hijo del Espectro beated Coco Rosa and Coco Rojo, but in the confussion, Coco Rojo and Azul exchanged masks, so Coco Azul, I mean, Rojo, could take the match with 'la cavernaria'.

*** Mask vs Hair--- Cuerno de Chivo vs Oscar Sevilla el Novillero.- At last.

1.- Joining into Cuerno de Chivo beating Sevilla with a towel, don't know if it was supposed that the towel was covering an illegal object or not, since they didn't show it. Cuerno goes to the top turnbuckle to deliver a moonsault twisted into a somersault plancha, but gets only a 1 count. Apache helps the rudo in the beating, holding Sevilla on the floor so the rudo can hit a third rope springboard moonsault, not a quebrada in which he steps on the rope, rather, he jumps on the rope to land with his tights on there and do the flip to the outside of the ring. Sevilla rallies back blocking a faceslam to a turnbuckle, but Chivo uses a wood chair to keep the control of the fall, eventually, he dropkicks the chair into Cuerno's face, the rudo ends on the floor, Sevilla connects a plancha from the top turnbuckle, then uses la mezcaleņa to force the rudo to quit.

2.- Chivo is once again ahead on this caida, uses an inside the ring quebrada for a 2 count, Apache takes a more active role now, punching the tecnico a while, Sevilla starts bleeding, Cuerno de Chivo seats el Novillero on a chair out of the ring to deliver a tope suicida, but the tecnico stood up before receiving the tope, so it didn't look that good... later (edited), Sevilla starts getting near falls with hurracanranas and suset flips, and finally beats Cuerno with a la Atlantida torture rack.

The match was good, but it is kind of upsetting when the rudo does almost everything and yet, can not score even one fall, maybe AAA will turn Sevilla into Perro Aguayo junior or something like that.

*** Abismo Negro (II) and ElectroShock(w/Pentagon) vs Perro Aguayo and Hijo del Perro (w/Octagon).-For the Mexican tag team titles.

1.- Beginning with some matwork, then brawling, Perro no sells, Vipers no sell the no selling so they take the primera caida. 2.- More Perro no selling, double foot stomps from the second rope on Abismo Negro, Electroshock goes for the save but Perrito hits a senton a la aguayina, then powerbombs ElectroShock and the tecnicos get the second fall. 3.- Perro and Electro Shock pin Abismo and Perrito, and then go at it, patented Perro retirement tour tope, usual stuff, Pentagon takes an Octagon mask from the crowd and uses it, goes on to foul Perro, so Electro Shock can get the easy pin and we have new tag team champs!!! Perrito jumps on the real Octagon after the match is over.

CMLL, aired in Mexico on May 23rd. Arena Mexico season reopening.

*** Fuerza Guerrera, Villano III and Zumbido vs Negro Casas, Tarzan Boy and Olimpico.-

1.- Rudo Madrugete, bump, pow, whack, tuck... Zumbido goes to the top turnbuckle, moonsault and pin on Negro!! 2.- Tecnicos take turns being triple teamed, Negro ducks double clotheslines and dropkicks Zumbido out of the ring, tecnico brawling on the ringside area... after a while, Negro and Zumbidosky go 1 on 1, Zumbido goes to the top turnbuckle once again, but misses the moonsault and is defeated with la Casita.

3.- Fuerza and Villano gang up on Olimpico, earlier on the year, Olimpico sort of feuded with both and kept the CMLL title against them... here, after being beated for some moments, the tecnico reacts cleaning the ring with some armdrags... both rudos end on the floor so Olimpico teases a tope... making the rudos crash into each other! Once again, Zumbido and Negro fight, they end brawling on the floor, Tarzan (who didn't do anything at all in this match) and Olimpico manhandle Fuerza and Villano, on the floor, Zumbido crotches Negro to a cornerpost in a clear foul, but the referees won't see it, so Zumbido can go back and help his mates to take the match!!

Wow, it looks as if they are seriously considering pushing Zumbido as Negro (and incidently, Santito's) new arch enemy... wonder how will Zumbidosky will look bald...

*** Lightning match--- Ultimo Dragoncito and Tzuki vs Fierito and Espectrito.- First tag match which is billed as Lighting Match. Fierito... I have not seen Fiero in years, Fierito's outfit looked somehow like Felino's.

-- The highsposts: Tzuki does a second rope moonsault, a top turnbuckle tornillo to the floor, Ultimo Dragoncito delivers a through the ropes somersault on Fierito, landing on his feet on a first row seat!! Besides that, their usual armdrags and flyingheadscissors in this match won by the mini tecnicos.
*** El Gran Sasuke vs Ultimo Guerrero.-

1.- I guess they edited the matwork out or something, after a couple of moves, Ultimo Guerrero ends on the floor, so Sasuke can deck him with a Quebrada, they go back to the ring, Sasuke hits another second rope inside the ring moonsault, but it seems to have no effect on the rudo as the Japanese nearly made no contact at all, anyway, Sasuke uses a german suplex with bridge pin to get awarded la caida. 2.- Ultimo Guerrero works on Sasuke's leg, Atlantis and Villano take over brawling, nearly ruining the match, they are expelled from the match. Ultimo Guerrero starts using his judo moves on the Great Sauske, getting some near falls, the tecnico tried to deliver flying headscissors on Ultimo Guerrero, but the rudo countered slamming Sasuke to the mat, then used a suplex to get the pin.

3.- Ultimo Guerrero keeps the control of the match for a while, then is time for the flying crazines with Sasuke doing his over the top rope no hands back body drop flip, Ultimo Guerrero using his tope suicida (which is reaching Charly Manson's or Black Warrior's topes as some of the best in the lucha world, right behind Hijo del Santo's). Sasuke also hits a frankensasuke, and a somersault flip from the turnbuckles. Ultimo Guerrero places Sasuke on the top turnbuckle to deliver his reverse suplex finisher, I nearly marked out thinking Ultimo would get the title, but Sasuke kicked out, you should have had him dropped on his head just like you did with Rey Bucanero, Ultimo... The rudo misses a senton from the top, so Sasuke can deliver a flying missile senton to get the match and keep the belt.

*** Brazo de Oro vs Satanico, hair match.- What were they thinking when they made this the season opener main event??? This is Coliseo 100% material. Hard to tell who will win, since they both lose their hair quite often.

1.- Brazo jumps on Satanico, who reacts and starts beating the tecnico, the match has not started yet (I think) so the referee tries to stop Satanico, who shoves him away, so Satanico is DQd, so I guess the match had started after all...2.- Brazo de Oro controlls with some gut shots, kicks, chops, Satanico pulls a cradle out of no where to take the fall. 3.-More of the same, Satanico uses a 'media cerrajera' and Brazo de Oro submits and loses the hair... I am pretty sure Satanico will lose his hair twice before the year is over, maybe in a month he'll be losing to Brazo de Plata.

Packed week with lucha, some good matches, some great matches, some OK ones, and, hey, there was one match with the two Tinieblas and Atlantis vs the Hermanos Dinamitas somewhere... I forgot about that, to the record, the tecnicos won 2-0 when Apolo and Kurrgan came out, Kurrgan destroyed Atlantis, I don't know if that was because he will feud Atlantis just like Steel did last year before feuding Rayo, or because the Tinieblases are too bad to take a bump from Kurrgan. Worse yet, Rayo de Nabisco was also involved somewhere, I just hope they don't have Kurrgan beating Silva for his hair at the 66th anniversary, only leading for Rayo beating Kurrgan for his hair on the end of year spectacular...
