606 Mods, built IN!!!
The TR606 ZERO mod is an offshoot of various elements of other drum machines. It gives most of the features of the 808, with some realtime functions that were NEVER available.
PLUS, optionally, this can all be done WITHOUT an external box! Built directly INTO the unit itself!
*WARNING* Choosing to have it built-in is an EXTREME mod, requiring building up of the front panel on the right hand side to fit all the controls. Not for the faint at heart or those wishing "collector original" look. This is an extreme mod featuring extreme functionality.
Email for details.
Here are some examples of the sounds to expect from one of these monsters.. 808/909 best move the hell over, cuz lil brothers grown up.
TR606 OHH-CHH decay working together
This arrangement is *great* for changing the feel of the ohh-chh relationship without having to switch patterns.
Here is a pic of a 606 in the early stages of transformation... If you don't like watching a surgery of a human, you might not want to see this... ;)
Take note of the subboard on the left.. This unit only has the standard Waterstone based mods, with a few extras.. Also note the knobs... Easy to tell which is which when they are different colors! As of this pic, there is a translucent red, green, blue, purple, smoke knobs and some other opaque knobs being made now, along with an experimental translucent rubber knob (!?!?!) (yes, thats right) For sure gripping!
Also, note, too the clear plastic shield around the areas where the buttons tend to act up.

Wait till you see the custom case for the fullblown zero mods! ;) Any color you would like too!
It started with a dream: I go to a rave, and this guy is just ripping it up, with the wierdest blips and beeps and big throbbing beats. He is tweaking on something, and, as I work my way closer to where he is, I notice he has a little box.....
It looks like a 606, but its not really.. Its all mutated, bulging with muscle, and from this muscle sprouts new tweakable appendages, as if the unit had all these extra knobs that built up under the surface, then ripped through when the final mutagenic agents were introduced...
So, I get closer to the guy, and realize that this guys eyes are like the black oil zombies (okay, I love the X-files, bear with me) So, obviously, he has something...
So, I decide I *must* have the unit. I wait till after the show, and wait and wait.. Finally, I see the guy leave the club.. At first, I thought I would just ask him what it was or what he had done to it, but, realizing I am super secret agent man trying to foil an evil alien plot, plus a scuffle with such a freak could prlly ruin my new clothes, I abstain...
I follow the guy into a blind alley... Homeless? I thought...Nah....
I get stopped by someone who tells me from the darkness that they know what I am after, and know where I can get it...
I'm game..The voice beckons me to an area behind a dumpster in the alley, where he has a wierd light emanating from a strange looking box. *This one is obviously cooler than the guy I was chasings; it lights up and stuff. :)
Here is a rough machining of what I saw. Same basic shape, just different colors, all molded one piece, with lights behind translucent plastic..

This is just the teaser.. Wait till you see the real thing.. Wonderful.. ;)
Preliminary pricing for new case, upper and lower, new knobs, and all mods, including individual *buffered* outs, 3 way mute switches (mute, accent mute, and on), all Waterstone-based mods, plus tom tuning, seperate cymbal tuning, cymbal decay, battery-backed memory, and others for $300 USD, prepaid via Paypal or MO. Build takes from 3 to 6 weeks. I reserve the right to make that longer, depending on parts availability, acts of god, Al Qaieda, marshmallow-snorting extremists of any nationality, sudden ices ages, locust swarms, alien abduction, sudden lotto winning, hemorroidal flare-ups, menstrual cramping, Prozac psychosis, incarceration, incineration, self-immolation, and equipment failure. :)
All units get the 100% guaranteed for a lifetime against workmanship and *minor* maintenance, which MEANS any singular failure and/or replacement of any singular component for any reason involved within the system of the 606 that deals with the modding thereof, excluding all and any plastic work. That plastic is ABS strong, if you are breaking it, then you are more than a man/woman for me, and perhaps you should become a mob enforcer instead of a musician. ;)
The preliminary molded casings can handle aprox 100 lbs laid directly upon them without any problem, more than that and you need to stop standing on yours or lose some weight!
If you think the price is a bit high, think of it this way: this is art. I am doing it more to make a statement and spur others on to creativity than I am doing it for money. As is, my cost is barely covered. I also don't want too many getting out, since I plan on only making about 10 of these *WORLDWIDE*.
BTW, you get your original case back unharmed if you ever want to revert back to the ol 606. ;) Or so you can sell it off at some outrageous price on ebay to someone who smashed up theirs.
