~~ Welcome ~~
I'm glad you were able to stop by. Maybe you have a bit of spare time on your hands ... or maybe you're just wondering who the heck put this site together anyway. This section is devoted to sharing a little about me. My name is Melissa and I'm addicted to Boyds. I've tried the 12 step program (thanks Dave & Linda of Boydsweb) and the Beary Ford Clinic but I'm hopelessly devoted. First and most importantly I'm a stay at home mom. My girls bring me more joy than I could have ever imagined!! (and sometimes grief :o)) I've been collecting Boyds for about 10 years now. For years it was only plush. Bearstones, Dollstones, Wee Folkstones, Le Bearmoges, Beatrice Boxes & Porcelain Dolls have managed to creep in over the years. I certainly don't need to collect anything besides Boyds but ... I also enjoy Longaberger ® Baskets. I'll add more later but I guess that's about enough for now. Here's a tour of some of my favorites (don't worry their all my favorites) Boyds scattered throughout my house. My husband has asked many times .. Do you really need all of these ?? After see my dining room display photos, maybe I have a bit of "clutter".. LOL ...

Please be patient these will take awhile to load. I just couldn't "bear" to shrink them down.

If I really had to choose some of my most treasured "babies" it would be the Himalayan Dancing Bears & Hares. The series began in 1991 and retired by 1994. These were the design of bear artist Gae Sharp-Richardson. Did you know Gae also designed the bean filled critters and the bubba bears? She is truly a gifted and talented lady. I feel blessed to have "met her via the internet".

himalayans

Clockwise starting in the lower left corner: Pohley, Berrybear, Honeypot, Gramps, Sniffles, Grumps, Mohley, Gram, Homer, Nana & Milo. Sakary & Waldo stuck there heads in on the right side. I guess they're camera hams! I will add the Hares later. I'm just missing poor little Rohley. The family has offered a reward.

gram and gramps

Together at last... Gram and Gramps. I was fortunate enough to find Gramps several years ago tucked away on the corner of a retailers shelf. I'd been searching for Gram at a price I could afford but had recently come to realize the price wasn't going to be the issue but rather finding someone to part with her would be. My husband finally caved in when a Gram was listed on eBay right before Christmas. Woo Hoo !! We haven't acheived peace quite yet though as Gramps was tatooed by both Gary and Bailey at Rosemont '99. I guess Gram is a little jealous (of the tatoo and Gramps having a girls name tatooed on his foot!) and that's why she can't bring herself to look at Gramps. Doesn't she realize Bailey isn't the little bear she's heard so much about but rather the inspiration behind the bear. **smiles**
