The Vampire Lore is a very hard topic to touch on, considering that most movies, television shows and books all portray the vampire in a different view.
The traditional vampire will rise from his tombstone at night, and attack the sleeping people at night, sucking out all their blood and some even kill their victims while others are lucky enough to survive. Those who were killed by a vampire also may become a vampire themselves. Here are some of the things that movie vampires are:
- Vampires are known not see their reflection in the mirror
- They do not like light, therefore sleep during the day, and sleep in coffins at night which hold their native land earth. Some vampires are known to have been sleeping in red, silk lined coffins and others just in the ground at the cemetery.
- Vampires do not like crosses, and will shy away when they see one.
- Vampires will not go into a room with garlic cloves
- They are usually associated with turning into a bat, and then flying out into the full moon.
- Most, not all, people turn into a vampire by exchanging blood from a vampire (sometimes it has to be the master vampire, sometimes just a vampire).
The belief of vampires have always been strong among the Slavic people.
The famous Bram Stoker's vampire Count Dracula descended from Transylvania, Romania. The Eve of St. George's day (May 3rd), according to the book Dracula, the forces of evil, (like vampires) will have complete control of the earth. Just like in the book, some people in Eastern Europe also believe this.
