We are very glad you are interested in continuing you studies at Illinois State
University. To be eligilbe for the Criminal Justice Major you must have a transfer GPA of at least a 2.4. This GPA will include any and all college level work you have done not just the school you are now attending. Your first priority should be given to completing the transferable associate degree from the school you now attend. This would include either the Associate in Arts (A.A.) Degree or the Assoiciate in Science (A.S.) Degree. If you are not completing a degree from the Community College you should be working on IAI General Education requirements. The counselors at your Community College should be able to assist you with these course selections or you may use the internet worksheet. |

The courses which are underlined or equivalent courses are specifically
required for the completion of the major in Criminal Justice Sciences at
Illinois State University. Students planning to major in Criminal Justice
Science should complete a baccalaureate-oriented program. The above is only
a suggested program. Please refer to the requirements at you College for
specifics regarding the Transferable Associates Degree. To transfer to Illinois State University in Criminal Justice Sciences, students must have a 2.4 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Criminal Justice Department strongly encourages all students beginning the program at any Community College to complete the baccalaureate-oriented program also known as the 2+2 Transfer Degree Program. |
