Anchorage, Alaska

I lived in Elmendorf AFB, Alaska (just outside Anchorage) from June 1983 until June 1989. Anchorage is located in southern Alaska on the gulf of Alaska nestled between two crossing mountain ranges (the names escape me). Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska yet the population is only about 200,000 people. Elmendorf AFB is located 3 miles north of Anchorage on the foothills.
