Christmas Web Letter 2001
 Alex Becomes a Teenager
It's official. He is now smarter than his parents. We are looking at high schools for next
year. He will probably go to Oak Park
River Forest but we are considering Walther in Melrose Park also. That is, mom and dad are considering it, but
Alex wants to stay with his friends.
He is several inches taller than his mom and has bigger feet and a
lower voice than his dad.
Duncan
Duncan is, as always,
himself. This year we have hired a
tutor to help him with his schoolwork after school everyday. He really needs lots of one on one
attention to stay on task. We
considered changing his placement from a regular third grade class to a
'self-contained' classroom, but we were able to get the supports he needed to
stay where he is. His teachers love
him and were glad that they didn't have to see him go. He still loves trains. He has asked for another Lego train set
for Christmas and he loves to sit and watch train tapes with daddy.
