Hello and welcome to Beth's renewed Days of Our Lives Jeopardy Game!
You all probably know the world wide famous game-show "Jeopardy!". Well, this game is played in the same manner, only all the categories and all the questions are Days oriented.
Before starting, you should know how to play. This section will give you the instructions and explanations you need on how to play. At any time during the game, you can click for Help and will be directed back to this page.
This game is for One player. Since you are the only player, there is only one "round" and no "final round". You just accumulate 'money' and the more you get, the bigger Days expert you are. So, this is basically a 'test yourself' kind of thing.
You can find the questions for many, but not all of these answers,
somewhere on my page. The purpose of this game is not to see how well you
can navigate my page and find the info that's there, but whether or not the
information is permanently planted in that Days brain of yours. I encourage
you to answer as many questions as you can without looking them up. If
you're really stuck, consult my page, your friends and family, and any
other book, magazine, etc. that might help.
After you follow the link to the next page, you will encounter a Frame based page. The page will consist of Three Frames. The table below envisions the way the page looks.
As you can see, there are Three frames. Each table cell represents a Frame in the Game page. In the Main Part, the categories and amounts table will appear (If you see less than 6 categories, you probably just need to scroll the screen to the right, as the remaining categories just run off to the right side, probably). When you click on an amount, the question will appear in the Question Section, the bottom-left corner Frame. Read the question and answer it out loud. Now, after you have done that, simply, click on the icon that's marked "Answer" and the answer will appear in the Answer Section, the bottom-right corner Frame. Now check and see if you got the answer right. Go back to the Main Part, mark your score (explained later) and click on another amount and from there it's the same procedure.
The procedure is fairly simple.
2. Now, as explained, the question will appear in the bottom-left corner Frame. Answer the question out loud.
Now, as you may know Jeopardy questions are actually 'answers'. The answer is actually a 'question'.
For example: Question: He is Sami Brady's twin brother.
Other example: Question: This is Shawn and Caroline Brady's place of business
As you see, each category column has 2 little boxes at the bottom, called a
"pull-down menu box". If you click on one, a pull-down little window
appears and in it you'll see amounts running from -1500 to 0 in the
negative score box (the top box) and numbers running from 0 to +1500, in
the positive score box (the bottom box):
For example: You're at the beginning of the game and all the amount
pull-down menu boxes should read "0". You have selected "The Brady's" for
"200" ("I'll take The Bradys for 200, Beth"). The question is: "She is
Roman Brady's mother." Now, if you answered: "Who is Caroline Brady?" you
got it right and should pull down the positive pull-down menu and select
"200". If you answered "Who is Vivian Alamain?" then, you are wrong (and
should be ashamed of yourself). Pull down the negative pull-down menu and
select -200, since 0 - 200 = -200.
For an elaborated example: Let's use "The Bradys" category again. You
select "100" this time and get the answer right. Since your current score
is -200, you'll add the 100 earned for that question, bringing your new
amount to -100, since -200 + 100 + = -100. Pull down the top pull-down menu
and select -100. You move on to another category for now, but later, you come back to this
category. You choose "500" and get it right. Since -100 + 500 = 400, you'll
need to adjust the negative pull-down menu, so it reads zero again and
highlight 400 on the positive pull-down menu. Your score is now entirely
positive, so you must have "0" in the negative pull-down menu. Now you
select "300" in this category and get it wrong, so you select 100 from the
positive pull-down menu (again, since 400 - 300 = 100). Now, you choose
"400" in this category and get it wrong, now you need to select -300 from
the negative pull-down box, since 100 - 400 = -300. You should switch the
positive pull down menu back to "0." And so on, until you have finished the
category.
One last note: Either the positive or negative pull-down menu will always
read zero, depending on if your score is positive or negative.
The game ends either when you're fed up with it, or when you've answered all 30 questions. Alternatively, you can get a stopwatch and
decide upon a reasonable amount of time to play this game. When the time's
up, the game ends.
