Founding member and bass player, Bill Sacco left the band in 1979 to spend more time not being in a band. The remaining members spent much of the next year hanging out at the local liquor store where the night sales clerk, John Azzato showed a keen interest in joining the band. "Why would anyone want to join our band? He'll ruin his life!" The others thought. Finally the voice of reason won over, and the Ninnies were back!
