You can post your resume on-line with numerous headhunters and job banks. Companies often visit these web sites and will contact you if your qualifications match their needs. I have received many inquiries this way.

You can search the Job Listings on the Job banks and with employment search firms. Instead of waiting for someone to notice your posting, you can contact the employer direct from the job listing on their web page. Most of these jobs DO NOT APPEAR in the newspaper, therefore much of the population is unaware of them.

Perhaps the best method is to "Target" certain companies within the industry of your choice. Send them a cover letter and resume that is geared directly toward the openings they may have. Although they may not have an opening at present, they often keep your file active for 3 months. Follow up by e-mail. Assertive Job Seekers get noticed by Employers!
