William Sexton was born about 1786 in York Dist. South Carolina the son of Timothy Sexton Sr. and Esther Sisel. William fought along side his brother Moses in the War of 1812 under the command of Captain James Tunnell.
William married Rhoda Griffith before 1817 marriage location was probably in Scott County Tn.
William Sexton died in Scott County Tn. on 10 September 1854
