Charles and Linda Elizabeth's Story
Charles Bradford Alexander was born in Wayne Co Ky July 12, 1889 he married Linda Elizabeth Smith born January 23,1897, they married in Wayne Co Ky on May 7, 1911 Linda was 14 at the time they wed. sometime in the 1920's They along with several of Charles' brothers and their families relocated to Sangamon Co IL. Charles spent most of his life as a farm worker, Linda as a homemaker. Charles and Linda had nine children including two sets of twins. Two of their Children Mabel and Paul died as children, and their son Charles Huber "bud" was killed in France during World War II. About 1945 they bought the only house they ever owned on Main St in Pleasant Plains IL.Linda Elizabeth died at St Johns hospital in Springfield IL on September 15, 1968. Charles Bradford died May 17,1977. The family home remains in the Family.
The Parents of Linda Elizabeth Smit were Joseph Smith and Mary Ann Koontz, Joseph and Mary Ann were married before 1892. They had eight children and relocated from wayne Co., Ky. to Sangamon Co., IL about 1930. Two of their Daughters Ethel Eva, and Linda Elizabeth married Alexander brothers. Joseph and Mary ann are buried in the Bethel Cemetary west of Pleasant Plains Ill.
Joseph Smith was the son of Jackson Smith and Malinda Terry both of Scott Co., Tn.Jackson and Malinda were married on May 20, 1860 in Scott Co., Tn. they had twelve children.

Mabel Alexander born before 1914(twin of Sybil) died at about age 14
Lois Lucille Alexander married Fay Iams had three children Larry,Jerry, and Gary
Gladys Mattie Alexander born March 14, 1915
Hazel Ora Alexander born Febuary 24, 1918 married Isom Tomlin they had seven children. Their oldest Son Edward was killed in Korea. the other children are Glen,Isom jr, Charles Benjamin, Kenneth Eugene, Mary Elizabeth,and Mark Edward. Isom was killed in an auto Accident November 8, 1969, Hazel died of cancer Febuary 26,1996 both are buried in the Peter Cartwright Cemetary Pleasant Plains IL near their son Eddie.
Charles Huber "Bud" Alexander born January 19, 1925 killed in France during World WarII serving in the U.S. Army on July 10, 1944.
Margaret Lee Alexander born March 20, 1930 married Ernest Ransom Usherwood Nov 26, 1949Margaret Lee Alexander and Ernest Ransom Usherwood
Lorraine June Alexander (twin of Paul) born March 29, 1934 married Merle ThielenMerle Thielen and Lorraine Alexander
Paul Thomas Alexander (twin of Lorraine) born 29 March 1934 died as a child.
