Charles Nicholas King was born anywhere from 1863-1867
at sea, on his way to America. His father was German and the name
was originally Koenig or Von Koenig. His mother was listed as being Flemish
from Belgium. He was from Virginia (county unknown), went to America Samoa
around 1899, believed to be sent by President McKinley to develop American
Samoa. His trade was ironworker, his religion Roman Catholic. He
married Tapuitea Fatutalie Samia about 1900, daughter of Fatutalie (High
Talking Chief) Voice of the Western District for Tuitele. Tapuitea's mother
was Elena Mamea of Fagamalo. According to the 1910 census, Charles King
was married once before Tapuitea, so he may have left a family behind in
Virginia? Charles King worked for the United States Naval Station in Tutuila,
American Samoa. Charles died in 1936 and Tapuitea died in 1941, they are
both buried in the family plot in Fogatogo, American Samoa. Charles and
Tapuitea had the following children:

Charles Block King , b.1903, d. 1959, m. (1)unknown Hawaiian
woman, (2) unknown Hawaiian woman, grandmother to two boys who were raised
as their sons, Pule (David) & Charles (who took the King name). Buried
in Punch Bowl Military Cemetery, Oahu, Hawaii.

William Charles King, b. February 12, 1904, d. 1942, m. Omai Tuiletufuga
Toloumu, April 14, 1922. Omai died in 1951. Children: Hazel (nickname:
Thelma) Fema, Gloria Lia, William Pili, Jr., Margaret Fale, Marie Sa, Sally
Fanua.

Samuel Crawford King, b. November 23, 1905, m. Mary Fenneri Fargo
Gonzalez on August 3, 1926 in San Francisco, California. In the Coast Guard
for 32 years. Samuel died of a stroke in Guam December 6, 1957. Buried
at Golden Gate National Cemetery. Children: Mary Evangelia, Samuel
Walter, Eleanor Tapuitea, Edward Nicholas, Charles Crawford, Fenneri Moana.

of St. Joseph, Fagatogo, American Samoa. Their children: Nicholas Francis,
Michael Christopher, Gabriel John, Anthony William, Clement Joseph, Margaret
Mary, Joan Marie, Ann Miriam, Bernard Oswald, Gertrude Maria, James Benedict.
