WRITTEN BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS

IF EVERYBODY CARED

I think it would be nice if every body cared

about the other creatures with whom the earth is shared.

And I think it would be wonderful and happiness abound

if others could be kind to other people they're around.

It doesn't take much effort to smile and touch a friend

and show a little kindness and try not to offend

those who are different- in color, race, or creed

and share of our possessions with those who are in need.

The world would be like heaven if we could only try

to lend a helping hand to those who we pass by.

The treasures we could store in our hearts and minds

if we could slow our pace and help those we leave behind.

If we would clasp a hand of those who do fall down

and lift them up beside us with feet firm upon the ground

and help them to hold their heads up to bear each tragedy

help them cross burning deserts and each raging stormy sea..

Diane's song

I feel it crashin' through my mind

like the windmills of my time

I feel it movin' through the air

feel it movin' every where

It takes ahold and it can't let go

Makes you feel like there's somethin' you should know

seems to fit me like a glove

I really do believe it's love

It seemed to grab me by the hand

slipped me into a wedding band

Made me flow just like a dove

I really do believe it's love

she's the wind that blows my mind

She's my eyes when I go blind

She's the one I took by the hand

She's the woman I call Diane

She's the mother of my child

She's the music so soft and mild

She's the one I gave the wedding band

She's the woman I call Diane

She's my blanket on a cold cold day

wraps around me in every way

She seems to be my favorite fan

I love you my sweet Diane

I love you my sweet Diane.

"Mama"

By Mona McCallum

Came to you in sudden pain

The morning was dreary, wet with rain.

Can’t compare what you went through

The price was great, I’m sure that’s true

Your family came in times of strife

and then came the pain of giving me life

How can I think you for all that you’ve done?

For being my mother, for being the one?

For taking the time to wipe away my tears,

for comfort & love through childhood fears

For all the advice you’ve given to me,

to open my eyes and now I see

Life is filed with good and bad and

I lived through it because of you and Dad.

I can think back and remember when

I just turned eight and was baptized then

I turned sixteen and it was time to date

I always got teased if I would come home late

I’m eighteen now and I still like to hear

the sound of your voice when I’m called you little girl.

I’m graduating now and I can’t believe it’s true

I’m leaving fond memories, and my old friends too.

I’m so very, very proud when I can think back and see

When you talked to all my friends so happily

and I think of the time that you spent teaching me

how to play a guitar and sing a melody

I’m not too good at poetry mom,

I really have a time , it doesn’t seem to come

It really is hard to hold back the tears,

Jut want you to know how much I care.
