~*Forest Fire*~
Raging,
churning, angry and
wild
consuming purifying all defiled
taking all that is in it's path
destroying all in it's terrible rath
never mindful of the tender lives
unashamed of it's terrible drives
to change the face of forest and land
desperate to destroy rocks and sand
yellow tongues of leaping flames
touching clouds in darting games
leaping streams in determined grace
purging all in it's desperate race.
driving all life in its desire
fear of death from smoke or fire
in the middle of the river stand
trembling for still the fire expands
He lifts His hands to give command
His voice, "water cover the Land"
then from the clouds came the rain
life giving moisture to restrain
slowly, slowly each flame to die
resisting and struggling to defy
finally giving into it's masters call
it gave it's life to end it all.
Elk,
deer, animals large and
small
soon to be seen in forests tall
once again when the time is right
fire once again will show it's might.
