"I Watched from Above"

Long before we came to earth,
I knew we would belong
and I'm so glad I chose you
to be my earthly mom
So you could love and teach me
the things that I must know
to protect and keep me safe
while here on earth below.

I watched you from the spirit realm.
I saw each of your trials
and saw the joy and heartaches
and your tears and happy smiles,

I feared for you some of the time
when you almost lost your way,
and I whispered in your ear,
please Mom, don't forget to pray.

I could see that you were struggling
with some of the worldly things
and sometimes almost waver,
while following your dreams,

But my heart would fill with gladness
as I watched you kneel in prayer
and I knew that these choices
would keep you safe down there.

I watched as you and dad were
sealed in the temple of our God
You had over come all obsticles
and held firm the iron rod.

Then came the time for me to come
to spend my time on earth
Although you were in such pain,
you were comforted at my birth

The minute I came into this life
and looked into your eyes
I knew that the choice I'd made
was marvelous and wise

I'm thankful Mom for lessons learned
and all your tender love
and I'm grateful for your teachings
of our Father up above.

I'm grateful for your strength,
the things you've gone without
to give me life and happiness
I have never had one doubt.
