IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME:
Your exam shows you have a colon problem called irritable bowel syndrome, or spastic colon. This condition causes cramping in the lower abdomen, often with excessive rumbling, gurgline, and bloating. Diarrhea, mucus in the stool and constipation with hard little stools are also common. This pain is often relieved by bowel movement. Irritable bowel may come and go for months or even years. The cause is unknown, but a poor diet and emotion stress are usually involved.
There is no test to prove you have irritable bowel, however some test and x-rays are usually needed to be sure you do not have a more serious problem. Treatment or irritable bowel includes:
*DietIncrease fiber and bulk (whoe grains, bran, vetables, fruit) and reduced fats (fried foods, dairy products, means).
*Exercies regularily such as walking and find ways to reduce your stress.
*Try a psyillum produce (Metamucil, Fiberall) one teaspoon in water three times a day.
*Medication such as antispasmodics and sedatives are sometimes helpful.
Please be sure to see a doctor for follow-up as recommended. Call or return here if you notice increasing abdominal pain, fever, blood, in your stools, difficulty uriniting, or any other problems.
SEASONAL ALLERGY (HAY FEVER):
You have the symptoms of hay fever. This affects about 10% of the population. The symptoms include: suffiness, runny nose, sneezing, and itchy red eyes. Hay fever allergy occures when the body overreacts to foreign substances such as plant pollens, molds, dust, and animal danders. Treatment includes:
*Avoid contact with allergen. Reduce your exposure to animals, keep you room dust-free, and stay indoors as much as possible during pollen season.
*Antihistamine drugs help reduce your symptoms. For best results take them on a regular basis.
*Cortisome and cromolyn nose spray and eye drops can give long-term relief if taken 2-4 times daily during allergy season.
*Oral decongestants and over-the-counter eye drops may also bring relief. Please do not use decongestant nose sprays for more then three days; they can cause increased congestion and are addictive.
Desensitization shots can be very helpful in sever causes of hay fever; ask your doctor about this. Hay fever can be associated with asthma and sinus disease. Please see your doctor right away if you have shortness of breath, wheezing, a persistent cough, a thick nasal discharge, headache, or fever.
ANTIHISTAMINES:
You have been prescribed an antihistamine .Zyrtec 102 #20 tip QD
ANTISPASMODIC DRUGS
You have been prescribed an antispasmodic medication to help your abdominal symptoms.. Librax capsules #30 T for TID.
INHALED BRONCHODILATOR MEDICATION
Your doctor has prescribed an inhaled bronchodilator medication for you . FOLLOW UP CARE:

Please make an appointment for further treatment "as soon as possible" Be sure to tell your referral doctor or clinic that we have sent you, and bring your medicines and instructions to the office. .

UNABLE TO FILL PRESCRIPTIONS LACK OF INSURANCE
On Sunday, April 5th, 1998 Chris Walters visited Safeway Pharmacy and RiteWay Pharmacy and presented the prescritions made by Dr. Taylor and was told that his Oregon State Medical Insurance was invalid in Washington and could not be honored. Social Worker II Jim Briganti of Washington State DSHS (360-586-8219) explained that approval of medical benefits would probally take 45 days from application date of April 2nd, 1998 which means that neither medication or products such as "citrucell" can be acquired by Chris Walters. Social Worker II Jim Briganti delay of processing Chris Walters food stamp application means that special food items suggested by medical authority to treat the conditon cannot be acquired.
