Unusual Nature Names

Nature names are sometimes called Hippie names, because of the fact that Hippies in the 60's and 70's chose nature names such as Rainbow, Sky, and River for their children. The trend was not widespread, and was over pretty quickly, leaving many "Hippie" names still unusual. Some nature names have been used as given names for longer, particularly flower names for girls such as Holly, Heather, Rose, and Violet, and so escaped the "Hippie" lable and many became quite over-used. We are also used to hearing other nature names like Forrest and Willow. They are still unusual names, but not classified as ultra unusual. Here are some lists of nature names that are in that ultra unusual list.
