I have decided put something together on Avilla. I hope to Show Case Our Wonderful Town were the people are so Loving and Kind.
Avilla, is a slow growing vibrant community, Avilla is located at the intersection of State Road 3 and State Road 8 in the eastern portion of Noble County, Indiana, only 10 miles from Interstate 69, and 22 miles North of Fort Wayne. Avilla offers a quiet quality of life to its residents in a true rural Northern Indiana setting.
Avilla itself was named after Judge Edwin Randall. In 1875. Avilla was known in the early days as Hill Town. It was also known as Hell Town. The name Avilla came from the French History word Villages then the Name Avilla was Born. The Highway that runs from Highway New 3 into Avilla is called Albion Street and it use to be called Aubrun Street in the early days. I have been told that Avilla had a Race Track, it was indeed the Party Place on Race Days.
Avilla was Born in 1837 with the first settlers. Avilla was established in 1876, Avilla now boasts a population of over 2049. A growing community. Avilla offers prospective residents with the opportunity to live in a quiet small town, In addition to several local businesses, Avilla is situated in the heart of northeastern Indiana and is near big cities, small towns, state parks, lakes, and many recreational opportunities. Fort Wayne is just 22 miles to the south and I-69 is 10 miles to the east. Chicago and Detroit are three hours away by interstate highway.
Avilla is an incorporated town, governed by three trustees and a clerk-treasurer. The three trustees and clerk-treasurer are elected. A town manager facilitates the board's wishes.

MEDICAL FACILITIES Avilla is proud of its Medical Clinic which staffs four doctors. The Family Medical Clinic was founded by the late Dr. K.D. Sneary and Dr. Max E. Sneary in about 1965 and was expanded in 1980 and
again in 1997. At that time the staff included Dr. James Chandler and Dr. Gerald Warrener. In 1997,the staff added two new doctors, including Avilla's first female doctor, Dr. Lisa Lane and Dr. Phillip Corbin. making it one of the most modern clinics in the area.
In Kendallville is Parkview Noble Hospital. Twenty miles south of Avilla is Fort Wayne which has three modern hospitals, Lutheran, Parkview and the St. Joseph Medical Center. Noble County has an excellent Emergency Medical Service. Also the helicopter "Samaritan" serves the area in extreme emergencies.
