The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: B-
Ann and Tann Gella, whilst being some of the weakest characters in YJCCG in terms of base Power, retain some economy due to their high Destiny. Deploying for 1, Ann and Tann have a base Power of 1, a cumulative total of Power +3 in location bonuses, and a Damage of 1. Their only redeeming feature is their Destiny of 6, which is, well, unsurpassed. There are better options, however...

Decipher: A-
Not too shabby, overall. The image is nice, and the majority of the statistics seem to fit with the girls as they were portrayed in the film. But (again), the locaton bonuses are just the slightest bit dodgy. I am not sure that I want to directly iterate why Decipher may have decided to give Ann and Tann location bonuses at all Tatooine locations (use your imagination), but I think that the Desert Landing Site bonus could easily have been scratched, and maybe added to the Mos Espa bonus. Decipher seems to be biased towards uniformity when it comes to these bonuses. Comments?

Overall Usefulness: D+
Ann and Tann Gella / Sebulba's Assistants is not a very useful card by any means. Normally, you will not be actively looking to include weak characters in your deck, unless you are looking to increase your deck's average Destiny. Sure, Ann and Tann have a Destiny (6) just right for such a purpose, but unfortunately, they have a touch of the 'Aurra Sings' about them. What am I on about? Sith Probe Droid / Spy Drone is equal statistically to Ann and Tann, with the single difference being that the former is non-unique. Hopefully I will not need to explain why this is an advantage.

FLAVOR TEXT: Twin Twi'leks always massage Sebulba before the big Boonta Eve Podrace.

Podrace Preparation
[#128, Menace of Darth Maul, Uncommon, Yellow-Dot]
Prepare Sebulba for the podrace: use this Battle card to allow Ann and Tann Gella and Sebulba to fight together in battle, adding Power +2 to their cumulative total. It is a bit disappointing that the bonus is not a bit higher, but as it stands this card is the single existing reason to use Ann and Tann in any deck. Any competitive deck, anyway...

-------------------
IN BRIEF:
-------------------

Unfortunately, Ann and Tann Gella / Sebulba's Assistants are pretty much redundant in a truly competitive YJCCG deck. Their Destiny of 6 is the only real reason you would want to include them (on their own), and unfortunately they are poorer cousins statistically to the superior Sith Probe Droid / Spy Drone (rhyme unintentional). Okay, so what else? There is one Battle card that refers to Ann and Tann specifically, but it is not a particularly strong one, and is also hampered somewhat by the coloured-dot deck construction system. If you are using Sebulba, chances are you will want to include some other Podracer Pilots, all of which are unfortunately the same dot-color (green). Fortunately, there are some cool deck themes you can build, just remember they are probably more cool than effective.

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

I am a firm supporter of recycling! Needless to say, there is some material below that is recycled from previous material!

* How about a deck theme revolving around Mos Espa? Throw in Gragra for red, Sebulba / Bad Tempered Dug for blue and Ann and Tann Gella for green. I want flesh it out fully, but needless to say Sebulba's Podracer and Podrace Preparation are definite inclusions. Happy deck-building!

* A bad girls theme! Aurra Sing / Bounty Hunter for red, Ann and Tann Gella / Sebulbas Assistants for green, and Gardulla the Hutt for blue. Ten copies each of those supposing you have them, along with a healthy quota of Blaster Rifles and Aurra Sing's personalised Blaster Rifle. Probably a fairly effective theme to boot. And fun.

* Deck Idea: Twi'leks? Unfortunately both Bib Fortuna / Twi'lek Advisor and Ann & Tann are green-dot. Doh and double-D'oh.

* Ann and Tann Gella / Sebulba's Assistants + Sebulba / Bad Tempered Dug + Podrace Preparation + Sebulba's Podracer on Tatooine = 12 + Destiny. Pretty good, and the ideal way to get rid of that pesky Jar Jar. Or Anakin, for that matter.

ADDITIONS:
------------------

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au and I'll add it here. There are more twi'leks to come, as I can remember at least one more was by Jabba's side during the Boonta Eve Podrace.
