The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: B
Sort of economical, but brought down by the low-ish Destiny. The Naboo Blaster has a Deploy of 2, giving any non-unique Royal Guard, Bravo Pilot or Naboo Security a bonus of 00? (Power +2 and a Destiny ? draw) or any other character a Destiny ? draw. I like the way that this weapon works for three different types of cards, unfortunately, it is both expensive to Deploy and a liability in terms of Destiny. I feel like I've said this 50 times already, but take a look at the Blaster Rifle for *real* economy.

Decipher: B-
The image is fine, and I really like the way Naboo Blaster gives out it's Power bonuses. What I can't work out, though, is why Naboo Officer doesn't also get a bonus. It seems to me that the only reason why this is not the case is that it would not really fit on to the card. Maybe it was an innocent omission, maybe it was deliberate, maybe Decipher were a touch lazy. It doesn't *really* matter, though it does not make a lot of sense - apparently Royal Guards and the like are armed with Naboo Blasters, whereas Naboo Officers are expected to ram people in their Flash Speeders.

Overall Usefulness: B
Another nice theme card, this card works well with cards like The Queen's Plan. Still, it is not the type of card you should include unless you are consciously building a theme and using the right characters (insert Blaster Rifle spiel here!). The Destiny is not great (3) and the Deploy is feverishly expensive for a gun. In the right deck, the Naboo Blaster could be key, but in most decks, it is unnecessary.

SPECIFIC INTERACTING CARDS:
------------------------------------------------

Naboo Security, Guard
(#20, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Green-Dot)
- Naboo Security / Guard has an effective Power of 4 + Destiny when in possession of the Naboo Blaster, 6 + Destiny when is he also at Naboo / Gungan Swamp. Roll on those unavailable sites! We need you!

Bravo Pilot, Veteran Flyer
(#21, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Blue-Dot)
- Bravo Pilot / Veteran Flyer has an effective Power of 4 + Destiny when he has the Naboo Blaster, or 5 + Destiny if he is on Naboo with it. The most flexible of the cards able to use the Naboo Blaster.

Royal Guard, Leader
(#31, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Blue-Dot)
- When in possession of the trusty Naboo Blaster, the Royal Guard / Leader has an effective Power of 4 + Destiny, or 6 + Destiny at the Tatooine / Podrace Arena. Not too shabby at all.

Royal Guard, Veteran
(#32, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Green-Dot)
- When in possession of the Naboo Blaster, the Royal Guard / Veteran has an effective Power of 4 + Destiny, or 6 + Destiny at the Tatooine / Desert Landing Site. Will become more of an option when Tatooine / Desert Landing Site is released in the coming expansions.

IN BRIEF:
-------------------

The Naboo Blaster is a nice theme card that goes down well with The Queen's Plan. Because both of those cards revolve around the same three types of characters, they work effectively in tandem together. Unfortunately, of course, none of the characters that interact with those cards are red-dot, which means that you are unable to build a complete theme. Still, you can build a semi-themed deck, at least! One of the best things about this card is the way in which it it is effective for multiple types of card: hopefully there will be more cards like this in future expansions. Overall, a handy card, but again, one best used in the appropriate theme.

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

* The Queen's Plan deck? For green and blue you will obviously wnat some combination of Royal Guard / Leader, Royal Guard / Veteran, Bravo Pilot / Veteran Flyer and Naboo Security / Guard. Yellow should feature multiple copies of The Queen's Plan, The Negotiations Were Short and perhaps Security Volunteers. Orange must contain some combination of Blaster Rifles and Naboo Blasters (something like 4:6 or 3:7, respectively) and red is the Decipher-defined problem-area for this deck theme. I would probably settle for Ishi Tib / Warriors and Jawa / Bargainers - to help that Destiny along. Maybe a couple of Jedi could help as well. Shake, simmer and serve.

* Dream Card Beg: A red-dot Royal Guard or Naboo Officer. How about Royal Guard / Rookie or Royal Guard / Commander? What about Naboo Officer / Commander or Naboo Officer / Royal Assistant? Or something?

ADDITIONS:

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au and I'll add it here. I think the Trade Federation could do with a Naboo Blaster. Cough, cough.
