The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: A
It was *super-economical* before Decipher realised they had slipped up. For those totally ignorant readers out there, Decipher has re-issued the Eopie card because it should not have a Deploy of 0, but a Deploy of 1. However, it still gives o? to Anakin or Padme in battle (Power +1 and a Destiny draw) or a Destiny draw to any other character. With a Destiny of 5, it rivals the trusty Blaster Rifle for the featherwieght championship of the world in YJCCG weapon economy.

Decipher: D
I'm not a great fan of the idea behind this card. I am not sure if these creatures would actually *help* you in battle, certainly not to the extent that it does (it is quite a powerful card). I mean think about it, would you prefer to be on an Eopie in a fight with a Battle Droid or have a Blaster? They dont appear to be particularly fast creatures. Apart from that, the image is good.

Overall Usefulness: A
While you may overlook this card in preference for the Blaster Rifle, maybe you should look again. Differences? This card supplies one less Destiny but additional bonuses in battle for Padme or Anakin. Certainly, in a deck containing a few of those characters, it may be worth yanking out a few Blaster Rifles and shoving in a few Eopies. Sure, it is not a pretty idea, and just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine (Picture the final duel with Maul, only with the good Jedi riding Eopies - yeuch), but it is an effective card nevertheless and one worthy of inclusion in your deck.

FLAVOR TEXT: Local colonists use these hardy quadrupeds as mounts and pack animals.

CARD FACTS:
--------------------

COMMON, ORANGE-DOT, NON-STACKABLE WEAPON

Deploy: 1 (previously 0)

Destiny: 5

Game Text:
Adds o? to Anakin or Padme in battle. (Power +1 AND Destiny ? draw) OR
Adds ? to any other character in battle. (Destiny ? draw)

SPECIFIC INTERACTING CARDS:
------------------------------------------------

Anakin Skywalker, Podracer Pilot
(#4, Menace of Darth Maul, Rare, Blue-Dot)
- This is a card made for your typical high-Destiny Anakin deck. I am not sure whether you would prefer an extra Power +1 bonus for Anakin to one extra Destiny, but Eopies could easily fill 3-5 slots in your Anakin deck, or even more in an Anakin/Padme deck.

Padme Naberrie, Handmaiden
(#5, Menace of Darth Maul, Rare, Blue-Dot)
- Pretty useful to Padme, who is currently handicapped as a card by the non-availability of Tatooine / Mos Espa. It is a bit of a nuisance that Padme Naberrie / Handmaiden and Anakin Skywalker / Podracer Pilot are both blue-dot category. Otherwise, a Padme/Anakin/Eopie deck would be something of an awesome prospect.

IN BRIEF:
-------------------

Eopie was once a ridiculously powerful card, and after changes from Decipher, is still a powerful card. I would probably rate it the second-best overall weapon for the Light side (behind you know what) but it is sort of cooler than the Blaster Rifle just for the themes you can use it in. Really, a Blaster Rifle is a bit boring. Nothing like an Eopie deck to increase interest in the game. (Oh no, not another one!) If Anakin and Padme are both included in your deck, you will definitely have to put a *couple* in. Like I do below. Or maybe a few more than a couple.

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

* The wonderful Eopie deck! For red, I would suggest you use high-destiny characters such as Jawa / Bargainer or Ithorian / Merchant. Orange should obviously have 10 copies of Eopie, and green should stick to high-destiny cards such as R2-D2, C-3P0 and Amidala. For blue, you will want 5 each of Anakin and Padme, or maybe 6-4 or 7-3 in favor of Anakin, because he is more powerful. For your Battle cards, use Are You An Angel?, The Negotiations Were Short and Shmi's Pride or I've Been Trained In Defense. Stir in a few transports and serve.

Style Tip: Don't dare put any Jedi (or the Queen!) on one of these damned Eopies. Come on!

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au and I'll add it here. Do CGI cows produce CGI milk? Does Eopie contain too many vowels for it's own good? Only Lucasfilm have the answers....
